Hi, , I just joined (or tried to, anyway) your website here. , I guess I'll know if I am successful after I post this and can see the username, etc.

So, I have read the first two books of the Quickening and loved them. , I keep thinking that I have figured out where you are going and you keep surprising me--although I still think I understand the ultimate destination (the journey is a true pleasure). , I believe I read that you are fans/friends/influenced by Robin Hobb and Guy Gavriel Kay--I love their works and so was not surprised to find that I love yours too.

I just wanted to thank you and send some words of encouragement to you for future works. , I am in the US Army and frequently use fantasy and SF fiction as my escape from the real world, so I am grateful to whatever powers that be for authors such as yourself. , Like yourself, I love to travel, and have seen much of the world (and hopefully more). , I have made a couple of friends in your Army over the years and hope to visit your country some day too. , Keep writing and thanks,

Kent

Hi Kent Any fan of Robin Hobb and GGK are pals in my book! Welcome to the bulletin board and thank you so much for joining up and saying hello. Mostly, thank you for giving The Quickening a go and here's hoping Bridge of Souls delivers! It's nice to know that the tale isn't predictable and perhaps that has a lot to do with the fact that I don't plan my stories out. I just write instinctively - I call it freefalling - and so the story can go anywhere depending on mood, whim, etc. Wyl's journey was as much a surprise for me when I was writing it as it is for the new reader. Anyway, I love that it has brought you that escape you crave - where are you based? Stay safe, visit again and happy reading....my new series, Percheron, launches in the U.S. early next year. All best to you. F
