just found the Quickening books this week - a recommendation from my 16 year old nephew that was so resounding that I ran out and picked up Myrren's Gift to read on my way back from a trip....I've never actually been happy to be delayed coming home before but the extra 40 minutes in the air let me finish the book! , , on the way home, I had to stop and pick up Blood and Memory, but every store nearby is sold out of Bridge of Souls so I'll have to order that one. , I had picked up the book for my nephew as one of his birthday presents, he reads everything and we're both big fans of Robin Hobb and she'd given the blurb on the book so I was just hoping he'd enjoy it...I'm so pleased to find another series he and I can read and discuss that we both enjoy (we're up to four now with this one -- Matthew Reilly, Robin Hobb, JK Rowling are the other three). ,

The characters and world created in this series are phenomenal...and by finding this website I found that there ware two other series I can dive into. , Are they both available in the US or just Australia?

Hi there I'm so sorry I don't know your name but when you next post something hopefully you'll let me know. Thank you for trying The Quickening and for enjoying the books so much. I had to smile as I was reading your note imagining you tearing hysterically through an airport book shop and demanding books 2 and 3! (grin) How annoying that you haven't got Bridge of Souls yet but they're definitely all out in America so you shouldn't have a problem with that one. As for other books I'm afraid UK is well ahead. It's just released my first series, Trinity and is bringing that out over three consecutive months. Betrayal launched a few days ago. And Percheron will hit next year. In the U.S. the next available of my books is Odalisque, book one of Percheron, and that's scheduled for an early-ish 2007 release. Trinity has not been sold to America....yet. I'm glad you love the work of Robin Hobb - she is one of the two fantasy writers I admire most of all and I feel privileged to be mentioned in the same breath. Say hello to your nephew and thank him for recommending The Quickening tale to you! Where are you writing from? F

Sorry - I'm Jen, writing from Denver, Colorado. I'm disappointed that your other books aren't out here yet; I had visions of a quest for this weekend! Fortunately for me (on many levels), I'll be heading to Sydney/Hobart/Melbourne next month so hopefully I will find them there! It will make the long plane ride more fun and if I pick up copies for the nephew, score me some aunt-brownie-points too:-)

Welcome Jen....and I'll be passing oh so briefly through Denver (transit) on my way from San Francisco to the World Fantasy Convention in Texas come November. Pity we can't organise for me to sign your books in the airport! I'm in Sydney in mid August but that might be too soon for you. I can leave some book plates at Dymocks in Georget Street for you to pick up? Either way, hope you have fun Down Under and thank you for hunting down the other stories. Happy and safe travels. F
