Dear Anon, Think of the swear words as FX used to humanize, or de-humanize characters. Fiona's triliogies contain adult themes and are intended for mature readers. If I have found anything off-putting in her books, it would be some of the gratuitous bloodletting; but Fiona is the storyteller and I enjoy her stories. Sometimes I'll start a book and never finish it for some reason, but never with one of Fx's books; I find it hard to put one of her books down. She, as an author, creates a world and a cast of characters and brings that world to life using her own unique palette of words. I celebrate and applaud her skill while I defend your right to object to her style. We all get to choose the books we read; perhaps these are not for you. Happy reading, Phil
