This is perhaps a little stereotypical, but does anyone remember the FBI agent from the Frighteners?? He's kinda how I see Goth, dark, weird and twitchy, weedy too.

How can there be anything dark about doing nothing but read?
That is Revenge done. Fiona I am glad you killed off Merkhud, i was a little bit worried we were going to have a rehash of "the orphan child with incredible powers, who doesn't know he has power, and kept in ignorance and watched over by a centuries old guardian, who teaches him some things and keeps him in ignorance about others and then gets treated like an idiot for not knowing how to use his powers"
David Eddings, Terry Goodkind, Robert Jordan to name a few, I am sure there are a others as well,(just can't think of them right now) have all had that scenario.
The third child, now that was unexpected.
Unfortunately, I really do have to do some other things today, so, Destiny might have to wait till this evening, but i am supposed to be going out, don't think it will happen.

Thank you Fiona for a great read

Fiona McIntosh, you have a lot to answer for young lady.

My wife has started reading 'Betrayal'...and nothing is getting done in this house. She reads constantly. She reads instead of cooking. She reads instead of cleaning. She reads instead of...well that's none of your business. She's neglecting me, the kids, the dog and the goldfish. (We don't actually have a dog or a goldfish, but if we did, I bet she'd be neglecting them too.)

She has about 100 pages left to go...and then it's 'Revenge' and 'Destiny'. My life is going to be miserable for at least the next week.

And before anyone suggests that I do the cleaning and the cooking etc...I AM. Therein lies the problem, 'cause it means I'm not getting the time to finish 'Destiny' myself...she could beat me to it at this rate.

NOT HAPPY JAN !!! :evil

Adios, you home-wrecker.

Sorry for jumping in before Fiona has had a chance to defend herself, but may I offer a sugestion please?

The solution is simple! Just carry her away on a noble steed to your own Heartwood ...... what lady could resist a bit of Tor in her life <img src=">
(oh, and might pay to perform something rather magical, like zap away all the cares and woes of the world)

failing that, eat take-away for a week <img src=">

I have no defence DN. In fact I'm grinning big time! Can you imagine how delicious this is to read? Mind you I sympathise heartily. Your feeling of neglect is how I felt, in fact, when my husband discovered Robin Hobb's Assassin series having never lowered himself to read anything but non-fiction. Suddenly he couldn't eat, sleep, drink or concentrate on anything but Fitz. Drove me mad. He hasn't even read my books! Mind you, who could blame him. I was the same when I was reading RH.

I'm with Princess. Be sneaky. Arrive in the bedroom with a tray of goodies, a steaming pot of tea...and a gleam in your eye. Tor and co will pale by comparison (although I'm not sure I want them to!). <img src=">

Say hello to her for me....and thanks for enjoying them. Can I send her a bookmark for when that gleam in your eye works?

I handed her Revenge and Destiny... now aren't I nice?

Hmmmm.... DN. This sounds a lot like some other threads I've read on Sara's BB. Would you have an alter ego named Animal?

You poor thing... <img src=">

Betrayed by the very people I thought would understand.

This has nothing to do with romance...or the lack thereof.

Tom Cruise, Richard Geer and Brad Pitt, (though not necessarily in that order,) could come riding up on Harley Davidsons. Georgette would simply have one of them cook, while one of them cleaned, while one of them looked after the kids...and when they were finished, she'd send them outside to have a tequila, beer, martini, whatever with me...as long as we ALL left her alone to get on with her reading.

Interrupting her with flowers, chocolates, jewelry, better chocolates is still looked upon as an interruption, and we all bare the scars...'tis not something we'll attempt twice.

Time is obviously my only ally here.

Adios :evil

Sorry DN but I'm on Georgettes side, truly engrossing books are rare, so it can all wait until the tale is told <img src=">

I pity the poor person that would try to separate me from a good book for anything less than nuclear holocaust, and even then I would prolly keep reading. My guy is well trained in not interupting and he has the scars to prove it <img src="> The only time he has a remote chance is when I'm reading the Wheel of Time, and only because he could be Rands twin.

Very funny Fiona...which emoticon do you use for sulks off in a huff or huffs off in a sulk...whatever.

Manon, you've busted me. What exactly gave me away? My wit, charm, good looks...or was it just the tequila?

Come over here and have a hug...... (princess pats dragonemisis back in sympathy)

Perhaps one of the talented members can work on a "hug" emoticon?

Now, now.... I said nothing about chocolates and flowers..... more the "I have no intentions of interrupting you my dear, here, lay back while I massage those tense shoulders" type of heartwood creation......

Must admit, I was rather disciplined when reading the Trinity, waited until the household was asleep..... enjoyed the anticipation and savoured every word <img src=">

Currently reading Fools Errand... one chapter per night.

Perhaps I should tell my husband how lucky he is <img src=">

Pull up a chair, pass over the tequila and cry on my shoulder....
