How cold is 'freeze your tits off'? You might not like our winters, then. They've become quite mild over the years, and snow will sometimes be late to come: we usually have our first flurries in late november, but it had come as late as end of december. To us Quebecers, a X-Mas without snow is a mournful thing. I remember one year in my childhood, I think it was 1974 or 1975, there was such a blizzard that people would travel with snow-mobiles, and cars had completely disappeared under two meters of snow!

Southern Italy for your next book launch? I'll be there !!
I agree Fiona that we have some wonderful seasons too... Ever gone for a walk through Kiepo (?) Forrest when it is raining softly between the pines? Gentle mist in the air, soft pine needles underfoot and the joy of discovering a heavenly place of dappled sunlight (yes even in winter) toadstools and a sense of peace. Can imagine pixies and fairies giggling softly

Used to go Orienteering and delighted in some of the not so well known areas...
Cherry blossom abounds at the moment... spring is in the air

Agree about the heat though..... spent a holiday one year in Mildura when it was so hot that the roads were melting (seriously!)
