Revenge hits bookstores on Feb 4...when they unpack them and put them on their shelves is another story.

Is anyone out there from Adelaide? Probably not but I'll say it anyway. Will be in Borders, signing and doing a bit of a talk on evening of February 8 which is the official launch.

Apparently I'm going to Melbourne too. Anyone from Melbourne? (grin!)

Thanks for the invitation Ambrai. I'd love to. Will see over next few months what can be arranged.

Have a great weekend. F

Laughs at LC. Yeah right Lisa lives really close to the Adelaide and Melbourne. You just sit there and wait little buddy. :lol

Ok well Fiona, why not head west. Its much nicer out west (even if I'm gonna run at the first opportunity)

Did I ever tell you what happened when I was trying to get Betrayal? Well my wife ordered it from one large book chain (from a large suburban shopping center). The day I knew the bookstores had recieved it I went in to ask them for it and was told it migth be in a box out back but I would just have to wait until they unpacked them. Anyway, I rang another store who said they had them on the shelves so I went there to get it. I never bothered unordering* it from the other bookstore so about 3 weeks later they ring to tell my wife that the book is in. Pretty pathetic hey?

* is unordering a word anyway?

LC, I will personally sign the book for you. How does that sound??

The only good experience I had with a book shop was when the local store put Fool's Erand out two days early and didn't even realise. I had handed over the money and picked up the bag when I mentioned it and guy behind the counter did a Homer Simpson impersonation and looked like he was going to ask me to give the book back, so I ran away, laughing hysterically all the way.

Other than that, it is usaully all bad. Handing over so much money for a book really gets me down when I'm trying out a new author, but if it is one I know and really enjoy, then I don't even think about the money factor.

I have heard something about it Fiona but can't tell you much. Unfortunately November until June I am rather heavily committed at work and don't have much social time, therefore many things that happen I don't have a chance to attend or know about.

Of course if perchance you were in town I would surely endeavour to meet you.

Perhaps I can shout you a lobster dinner. <img src=">

I'm amazed at how slow bookshops are to get new stock out onto shelves. I too roamed the stores desperately hoping to see my book - it was such a massive novelty and we were constantly disappointed that the books were out the back in the famous boxes but took days and days to actually hit shelves. And then other people saw it before I did in my local store. Never mind. Thank you all for being patient and buying it.

Crusie, there's a chance I may head west this year as HCP were (last year) talking about Swancon for me in 2002. Have you ever been? Is it April?

Will keep you posted and hope we can meet for a cuppa.
