Hello Michael Absolutely no movie approaches, I'm afraid and I'm quite miffed to tell the truth . I really do think any one of my series will make a balltearer. I just have to win Peter Jackson's notice, especially now that those crazies at New Line have decided to make The Hobbit without him! Thank you all the same - I love that you have enjoyed Trinity and especially that you're not someone who traditionally devours three books in one hit. That is fantastic, Michael. And your praise makes me blush - thank you, thank you. Now try The Quickening - it begins with Myrren and I feel sure it will keep you just as absorbed...if not more than dear old Goth's terrible adventures! Happy reading - stay in touch. F

If you did have anyone approach you, to make one of your series into a movie. Who would you want to play which character and why?

We always come around to this question, Ailsa and we've had fun over the years changing our minds as new actors come along. Can you believe when I first conceived the idea I used the vision of a very young Mel Gibson for Tor. I needed those extremely blue eyes you see and dark hair. Not always an easy combo to find. Today I wouldn't dream of Mel Gibson. I think my Cyrus would be Hugh Jackman but then I think my Romen Koreldy in The Quickening would also be Hugh Jackman! Goth I think would have to be Sir Anthony Hopkins or someone who can do creepy cruel like Tim Roth. Alyssa, could be any number of lovely young, golden haired beauties on offer. Xantia should be Angelina Jolie! But then Angelina would probably be the statuesque Valentyna in The Quickening as well, although her roles have always lacked an empathy I feel and V has that in droves. The older kings are easy to choose.....so many actors would be good. But Lorys is critical. I think it's more enlightening if you share your ideas - I've done mine several times before.

Well you can totally disagree with me but I think that a great Tor, if he was a little taller, would be Elijah Wood - just the compassion and empathy he shows during the LOTR Trilogy is amazing to me anyway. Alyssa, you could probably cast Cate Blanchett or Rachel McAdams (from the Notebook). For Lorys if you wanted to shoe the knowledge behind this character as well the power I could not surpass Dame Judi Dench for that role though you might disagree. For the Quickenings I would have probably Chosen Julia Roberts or Catherine Zeta-Jones to play Valentyna with Ryan Gosling to play Celimus though he may not be what you would want. For Confessor Lymbert maybe Kevin Costner though he would probably suit a larger more powerful role I can't think of some else to play that role with effortlessness that he has done similar roles. For Celimus I could not pass up seeing Julian McMahon though Hugh Jackman could probably play this role well if you hadn't cast him as Romen Koreldy perhaps Cailech could be played by Julian McMahon to bring the strong powerful build into play. Now Perechon Lazar would probably be best played by Hugh Jackman for that gorgeous Aussie build and tan to go with!! Maybe Dakota Fanning could be cast as Ana with Daniel Radcliffe as Boaz and with John Leguizamo as Pez? These are just suggestions I can't think of many other actors that could play the different roles perhaps Sean Connery could be cast in the role for Merkhued (sp?). Please let me know what you think, though I know they may not be to your liking! Thanks Ailsa

Peter Jackman may have his hands full with The Temaire Series by Naomi Novik. He just recently brought the rights to her books for film. Well... the first 3. The Forth isn't out yet. http://www.temeraire.org/ The specific Article is here : http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/search/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003120747 She's probably my 2006 up and coming New writer award for Fantasy. I made my boyfriend read them and send me back copies of the second two books from the US i loved them that much. To be honest though, i'm not sure you want Peter Jackman for something like this. Yes, fantasy wise he's great. But the dynamics romantically for some of your characters i'm not sure if he could do them justice. Rachel McAdams would make a great Alyssa, but I personally think (please don't laugh) that Holly Valance (yes THAT holly valance) would make a good Xantia. Jude Law always reminded me of Clemanis. That's all that pops into mind so far.

Hey Melayna, did you mean HUGH Jackman? I was reading your post and was getting your point but I was confused on who Peter Jackman was? (unless he is another actor I haven't heard of? which wouldn't surprise me!) Anyway I would agree on Xantia though she wouldn't be my first choice!

I mean peter jackman for the second last paragraph. Because i personally think that the romantic relationships in LOTR weren't really portrayed that well. Hugh Jackman is yummy, he's done romantic comedies so i have no qualm with him being in it. If you had it my way... he'd be in every single installation of everything. Torkyn Gynt I want to say keanu reeves... but he's just to old for the part now :( I said Valance as Xantia because firstly she's the right age group for the role. Though hey... Jolie played the mother to someone about the same age of her in Troy so.... i guess she has versatility? Myrren always reminded me of Alyson Hannigan ((AKA Willow from BtVS).

I get ya! I think any actor can play any age I mean take a movie like Cruel Intentions the actors were in there early to mid twenties playing teenages. So its not a big differnce but also Judy Garland had to have her boobs strapped so that she would fit the role of Dorothy for the Wizard of OZ! There are certainly ways and means around everything but I definately see where you are coming from.

OH Oh, I just had another thought for Alyssa or even Valentyna (maybe) - how about Reese Witherspoon? I know she is older but she does a fantastic job with whatever movie she does!
