I discovered the Trinity trilogy when I was pregnant with my third daughter in 2003. I am an avid reader, and fantasy is my genre of choice ever since I was 10 and read the Belgariad by David Eddings! I had just finished reading The Liveship Traders series, which I also loved, and I saw Betrayal, with the quote from Robin Hobb on the front, and on that basis alone bought all three books in one go. I was enchanted right from the start. These books have become some of my best friends. I make a point of re-reading them at least once a year, and I still feel the same way about them now. After finishing the Trinity, I read the entirety of the Quickening series, which I also adored, even though I briefly despaired for Wyl and the chance of him actually ever finding peace. The Quickening also made it on to my re-read list! I recently finished Odalisque, and I am once again hooked. I am just waiting to be able to pick up Emissary next time I go to my favourite bookstore. I have loaned these books out to friends and family. If anyone asks my opinion on a series to try, I give them the Trinity! The Trinity is simply one of the best, most engaging Fantasy series I have ever read.

Wow! Thank you Tanithbriar - that is such a wonderful compliment and I feel very honoured this Tuesday morning to know I've hit your favourites list. Are you writing from Australia or the U.S.? I always love to know where board members hail from.
Anyway, I'm thrilled my books have brought you such pleasure (and yes, despair) and hope they'll always do that for you.
Goddess will be waiting for you at the end of November, by which time, fingers crossed I hope to have book one of the new adult series completed to draft.
Wish me luck!

Good Luck!
I was so excited when I saw odalisque on the shelves. I had been feeling so bereft without more Fiona McIntosh books to read!
I am actually from New Zealand. I inherited my love of fantasy from my mother who is an english teacher and was the school librarian. For years she fed my fantasy addiction with new books to 'trial' for the school library. I was quite pleased with myself when I managed to do a role reversal and introduce her to your books, and those of Robin Hobb, all of which she has now purchased for the aforementioned school library!
I think what I love most about the stories you weave is the fact that the characters are 'real'. They have dreams, desires and trials which can be related to on some level, and I have always felt there is justice in the resolution of your books which is always a big thing for me, and one of the reasons I can get so very mad when I read George R. R Martin! I am so glad that I found your website, as I didnt know that you were working on childrens books, but now I know to look out for them for my girls.
Thank you for replying to my post, it is a thrill to correspond with the author whose stories mean so much to me!

Hi Tanith,
Welcome to Fiona's World!
All of us here seem to be mad Fiona McIntosh Fans (duh!) so welcome to the Gang!
Have a look around the site and join in any of the discussion that may be rolling around as all of us like to discuss what has occurred in Fiona's series and what could happen in later books that haven't been published yet (eg.Goddess)
No doubt we will see you around!
By the way, if you like Colin Firth and Chocolate you are in Fiona's good books already!
See you Ailsa

Hi Ailsa,
Thank you for the welcome. I cannot believe it didnt occur to me to do this earlier! I love nothing more than discussing my favourite books with anyone who wants to join in, I am very lucky that my husband also likes fantasy, and that while he is very much a David Gemmell fan, he loved the Fiona McIntosh books as much as I did!
As far as Colin Firth and Chocolate goes...whats not to like! Although, I am currently on a self-imposed hiatus from chocolate, my oldest friend and biggest foe.
I look forward to more discussions about books that are and books that will be!
