Odalisque will launch on December 1, 2005 in trade paperback format. It will re-appear as a mass market paperback in mid to late 2006. I've left a formal note at the website under Events (Candlesmoke). But let me say here to everyone at the board, my most heartfelt thanks for helping so hugely to get me to this point where the publisher feels I've achieved enough with sales/popularity to warrant the books going into this new major format as well as still satisfying the small paperback market. :beer It's all very exciting. Hmmm...fabulous idea Fiona. Tequilla warrior - I'd take up Fiona's offer. Fiona will do the dance of the 7 veils and I will be in the chorus line with all the other Afghani McDonald chickoritas - its Fiona's launch and as the star its her dance - and no-one can do the dance like our Fiona. Recruitment for the exclusive chorus line will commence as soon as we know the official launch location and time... everyone is invited. :bananas hmmm - oh yes and you can organise the guys...:P what do you propose ... :bananas

Princess...Can Can Soldier......Can't Can't I'd love to orgynize the male chorus line, but from the safety of the far off Lands in the East, (appropriately noted on all good maps with Here be Dragons ) it could be a tad difficult...so I'll have to leave that job to someone else. Which is a pity, as I've always wanted to punce around a stage in a leotard...with the necessary costume adjustments, of course. ( Remember the recent discussion regarding Cod Pieces and you'll get the general idea.) Adios :pimp

Hmmm... me thinks that all the guys in leotards and cod-pieces will indeed be an exotic addition to the chorus line. Interesting idea.... Shades of the sabre dance comes to mind. This will be a chorus line to remember... for sure and then some - and since not all loyal fans will be able to participate - me thinks that there should be photos taken on the night and at least one happy snap be put into the gallery so that everyone can join in the celebrations. If there is no official launch event then we will have to organise one. Which bookshop is the venue - one in Norwood? Hmmm - Or - as a promotional event to involve even more folk - how about doing this at the Conclave in October... which reminds me - there is a major drive to generate attendance. I too have tarried - only because I am still unaware of the full program and am not sure what will happen on the day/s - plus I wish to have more information to provide folk when they ask about it. Is there a provisional program yet... would help as most people are still hesitant due to lack of information. It looks incomplete at present and while the cost is not totally exorbadent - people will want to know what they will recive for their investment. The posters in the Gallery are great and I am printing off a handful to distribute around Uni Adelaide and email to my network.. What colour leotards???:P :P :P

Well - there is a solution you know - you could travel here but I was thinking why don't you plan something for the day when Fiona will obviously travel to the USA to meet with her fans there.  You could organise the advance welcoming event and start your own chorus line...

Fiona, as a HUUUUUGE fan of yours, what is the chance of getting you to come and do a book signing at the new Dymock's at Northpark Shopping Centre?  What would be the process I would have to go through?  Other than asking my boss of course!!!

You've already done it! If your boss approves then off we go. I'll be delighted to do this for you. Now where's Northpark? (grin)
