I gave up all my consultancy work 10 days ago and I cannot believe how brilliant it is to be a full time writer. The joy of knowing I've finally reached this stage aside, it's the time I can give to it whilst not letting it impact on my family the way it has had to for the past five years but also the amazing continuity of thought. It makes such a difference for there only to be a matter of hours between writing sessions. I've really got the sense of powering through the manuscript of Emissary and because I have never and probably will never make notes, it means I don't forget where I was or what a character was thinking or planning to do. It may not last for good - I might have to do a few special projects in order not to let our business slip away but this last fortnight has put a cheshire cat grin on my face. I'm off to write from Tasmania for a short while over school hols....and do serious damage at the Cadbury's factory. Talk to you all on my return. F

Great to hear that you are a full timer and have continuity of thought - the same reason I like to read a book in no more than 3 sessions.

I am sure that the choco factory will have enough to satisfy even your love of the stuff.  Besides you can always find other places  - you know the ones that produce the best fudge on earth made from the best milk on earth - its an island off Tasmania - not King....  I'm sure you will find it.  Make it your missin to write a segment on mass produced and cottage industry, gourmet chocs and fudge for the travel magazine.

Have fun with your family and see you at the bookclub o nthe 10th OCT

That's beautiful Bruny Island and we have every intention of going there. It's not far from where we are but I also watched last week's SBS Food Lovers!
