Hihihihihihihihihihihi!

It feels like I haven't been here in forever! Namely because...I haven't. I thought I'd come and see how everyone was and what's new in the crazy world of the BB.

Oh, and to find out the release date of the next book! I was kinda hoping it'd be...tomorrow, really. I'm going overseas and wanted to take a big fat Fiona book with me to read on the incredibly boring flights that we have. But apparentely, it's not meant to be. I suppose I could always take Odalisque, it's probably about time for a re-read. That'll drive me nuts though, when I finish it again! The other option is to pack all three books of the Quickening - I still love that trilogy to absolute pieces - to keep myself occupied with old friends. Or, of course, there's always the Trinity trilogy...decisions, decisions.

But I saw cover art for Emissary - that looks amazing. I'm quite excited about it being released (how can you not be!? It's a new Fiona book!) and I swear, one of these days I'm going to cross the border into SA and come to hear Fiona talk about writing books and stories and the wonderous nature of other things. Unless, of course, she is planning to come to Melbourne in November? *hopeful*

Was that a book by Big Fat Fiona?????....because I've really been working hard at the gym. Thanks Kiki for being so faithful to all of the stories. Emissary - I do have copies (embarrassed shrug) but they are, before you shriek, only proof copies, not the slickly edited version...will be out end November, so a little while to go yet. I really must work out a way to include Melbourne! Happy travels by the way - where are you off to? F

Haha, you know that I'd never deliberately offend you, Fi, just cause your books are my favourite. I swear, if the house was burning down, I'd grab a warm jumper, a couple of photos, all your books and the Harry Potter series. Unless the house was actually burning down...I mean, I'd just have to grab what was close, hey?

Anyhow, I did end up taking Odalisque with me and read it on the plane/train/car with me (gasping several times because I'd forgotten plot points. That's always nice, I find, when you leave a book for awhile and read it later and rediscover things for the first time again) (oh, and Russia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Baltic States...Eastern Europe basically with a bit of Belgium and Paris thrown in at the end). And I realised last night that today was the 28th of November and I could go and buy it, so I thought I'd log on here to double check I was right and I find out that it's ALREADY released! I'm behind the eight ball because I didn't reserve a copy like I ALWAYS do and didn't get a phone call telling me it was already INSTORE. So, I'm going to scurry down to the shopping centre, buy books and come home again. :)

And yes, Melbourne is GOOOD! Even if I'm the only one there, it'll be grouse as to meet you...then we can adapt the Quickening to a screenplay and it can be my first movie, launching me into the stratosphere of the Australian film industry. Ahh, the possibilities!
