I finally got my hands on Goddess yesterday, and I've just finished it **I'm insomniac, so it helps to read over night** and all I can say is wow. It was a great finish to the series which is now one of my favourites. I have to say I was a little surprised with the character of Herezah for a bit, as well as Lazar towards the middle. The identity of the Goddess was also very clever in the fact that a lot of people probably guessed half right considering the true circumstances. I loved every bit of it. The ending was sad though, I didn't want it to end. I guess now, I just have to wait for the next series, but I think its going to have to be phenomenal if it wishes to beat Percheron.

Congrats Fiona on a fantastic series.

Wow, thank you, Clove. I'm glad it has "delivered". Final volumes are always fraught with anxiety for any fantasy author. There are usually so many questions to answer, so many threads to tie off while also giving readers a sense of satisfaction that not only this book was worth reading but that it brought closure to a big story. I never did read any of the threads on how you were all discussing the various ways in which the identity of the Goddess might be. It frightened me to read that stuff because with so many people involved it was obvious someone or several were going to be right. I also didn't want to be influenced by anyone's hopes/remarks. So I respectfully ignored it and simply began writing Goddess hoping the story and especially the characters would lead me to the finish and of course, as usual, they did. I had no idea who the Goddess was until about two thirds through and then it all began to fall into place, although right to the end I reserved judgement that something quirky might happen to change that outcome. Anyway, there it is. Percheron is finished and I have my first satisfied customer. Thank you again Clove for reading so fast and for giving it such a high rating. Valisar has a big boots to follow, obviously! ..... no pressure then! Fx

I'll be away for a week on tour, so if anyone else posts here please don't think I'm ignoring you. I will be on the move daily and with no access to the Net. Back Friday evening so I'll check in with the BB on Saturday 9th.

Am conscious of the risk of spoilers so will NOT comment on Goddess here. Will say that the writing style has changed yet again and storytelling style too. It is a more subtle text with a poignant story and transformational characters. The cycle of life in a new form and Iriodor is still amazing. Congratulations for tying ALL the loose ends and a satisfying read. ****

I saw it in the Collin's bookstore on saturday just as they where closing... i went passed it... did a serious doubletake and went .... "NOOOOOO!!!" My poor boyfriend had to put up with me going "I want it...i want it" until that monday. Finished it up shortly after but didn't get time to get online. Fairly happy with the story, but I'm going to have to admit... Pez/Iridor annoyed me a little... he just seemed to be getting in the way ALL the time. I was really happy with everyone else, especially Herezah, knew she had it in her. Boaz... was... ~sigh~ poor Boaz, it's hard reading a book knowing a character that you like isn't going to be happy. But good conclusion to the series

I'm sorry if i'm scary.

Gah. The end was so depressing :( I'm sure you get told this all the time but you are such an amazing writer. I can't believe how well you write, I felt so sad at the end of the book, I was shocked :P I don't think I'll be able to touch the book again for a while, lest I have a breakdown :P This series is by far the best out of Trinity and The Quickening. I got drawn in so quickly :) Just a quick question, I apologize if this is a silly one, I can be a bit slow :P But, the cover of the book, what scene is that reffering to? I can't for the life of me figure it out :/

Maya, forgive me for barging in on your post like that but I just needed to protect the ending for anyone who is yet to read Goddess and stumbles into this thread. Hope you understand? Now, most importantly, thank you for reading the series and I'm thrilled that despite Iridor that you enjoyed the book. I loved Iridor so I'm sorry he didn't 'do it for you' but very pleased that you have the same attitude to Lazar as I do. Herezah was cool wasn't she? I had no idea any of this was going to happen for her but it was a very nice surprise to watch her develop through this book. I cried too as I wrote it. Remember, I don't plan these things....they just happen and so I too get shocked by terrible events. Elf.....great to hear from you and sorry to depress! However, sounds as though you've read a few of mine and know my style. I'm never going to treat everyone kindly but there was plenty of hope at the end didn't you think? And by the way, your question is not silly. I am as baffled by the cover art as you! It's beautiful but nowhere does that scene occur. I think it's meant to be symbolic of the moment when Ellyana arrives in the Crystal Temple to talk with Ana. Thanks for reading and for enjoying so much! Fx

Well this writer LOVED your comment! It is wonderful to know that sthe story affected you emotionally and hopefully this has been a satisfying conclusion to the tale. As I often say, I never know what's going to happen because I write on instinct and don't plan anything. So the event you are referring to was a huge shock for me too! Thanks for reading. x

I finished Goddess way too fast cos I couldnt stop reading...I tried lawl. I really was left sad because I want more haha I fell in love with these characters and its so hard to let them go...I sound so lame  xD. I was accepting of the deaths but I must be honest and admitt I cried soooo much...was really embaressing but I guess it shows how much it got to me. I congratulate you Fiona and thank you for being able to do that , its been a long time since a book got to me. I really liked who did survive, one of them i didnt think was going to a few times but was glad she did (wont mention name for spoiler reasons). The only thing I ll complain about is that this is the end xD. Thanks fiona I have really looked forward to all these and never been let down. I will just have to go read your other books now xD.

My first post here so firstly a big HI!!! to fellow FM fans! (Especially the fellow Aussie ones ;). And a shy wave to Fiona McIntosh herself, (or yourself? Not quite sure how it works here) I'm an avid fan of this author's books. I picked up Goddess a few days ago, and I must say, it feels great to be back in the world of Percheron. I can't wait to find out how this story ends! I'll try my best to avoid reading any spoilers in these forums until I finished the book. Happy reading all!

Great to see that a few more readers have completed and are making comments.  Not sure if this is possible here but for the sake of not spoling it for OS readers but can this thread be compartmentalised/ quarantined so that only Australian readers can view until the book hits the other markets ???  - that way we in Australia can make more specific comments and ask those questions we might be holding back.  What do you think?

Hi A I'll ask Trent but in the meantime perhaps you can start a thread that is there purely for members to discuss Goddess or the whole of Percheron without being sanctioned for spoilers. Just make sure before anyone reads it that they know they're entering a no-go zone for people who haven't read the trilogy and enter at their own risk. Give it a nice big spoilers heading and then off you go. Thanks for suggesting. F p.s. I'm posting from Tasmania - hurrah!

Thanks Fiona, I just finished Goddess, and I must say, it was fantastic conclusion to a highly enjoyable trilogy! I'll be sure to recommended it to fellow readers as I have your other books. I loved how neatly all the plots resolved themselves, and I'll miss all the characters now that it's over.

I hope you have a new adventure brewing and ready for us soon!
