I suppose it makes some sense in that respect... And certainly there are plenty of examples of that in "real" life. Doesn't mean I have to like it though. :-P

Hi,

Just finished Goddess, what a great book , i haven't posted here since reading the Quickening but just had to after finishing this series.

I enjoyed it from start to finish, even the sad end for Ana which i can see was necessary and is apart of life, liked the subtle distruction of Maliz, glad you didn't have a massive God battle, liked the changes in Herezah.

Your writing goes from strength to strength and i look forward to each book being published, you are now on the list of authors that get purchased and read straight away alongside  Stephen King,Matthew Reilly,Raymond Feist,Tad Williams and James Herbert.

Keep up the good work , waiting patiently (NOT) for the next series.

Aaron

Hi Aaron This was lovely of you to share. Thank you so much. It's very rewarding to know that you've enjoyed the whole series and agreed with my treatment of the story. There really isn't so long to wait for Valisar. It goes to print at the end of next week! I dearly hope it's a satisfying follow up for you and worthy of being read alongside your other favourites. Well, this is the reason why I'm a bit behind in my own writing...

I really loved the way this book panned out, Fiona.

I'm particularly pleased that Herezah came up trumps - I knew she had it in her!  My favourite characters of this series.

Congratulations - it all came together so well for a satisfying read.  I loved the ending.

Hey Fiona, I'm new around here...although i have been reading your books for a while (at least a year), i just never found the time to be able to register. Then I got my own computer *joy* and here I am :)

Just to say, I loved everything you wrote, and I am currently on the last stretch of Goddess. Fantastic, as always. Always manages to brighten up a rainy day (of which there are a lot, after all it is England, he he!) Keep writing PLEASE!  I love (and hate) knowing that you are writing more fantastic stories. Thanks again.

Hi Suigetsu, I understood immediately what you'd meant Well how lovely to have another British reader drop by and thank you so much for enjoying my stories. Goddess is quite recently out in UK isn't it so I do appreciate you pouncing on it so fast and hope it satisfies. Well we've finally got our act together and have an orchestrated release for worldwide, so you'll never have to play catch up again. You'll have volume one of Valisar on October 1 available. Mind you, I'd totally understand if you preferred to wait for the paperback, which I suspect would be between 6-8 months from then so not too long a wait. We could use some of your rain here in South Australia! Happy reading. F

Yup, Goddess only came out a few days (or weeks..time has flown for me cause of things), and as soon as i saw it i had to get it! I just finished it yesterday actually, blew me away. I loved the ending, so different from most things, so dark and deep. I was holding my breath and rooting for Lazar and Herezah every step of the way. Thank you so much for writing yet another story that makes me smile and start to enjoy it before i even turn to the first page.

Hi Fiona! You are a fantastic author, I've been a huge fan of yours ever since reading Betrayal four years ago! As soon as I finished it I hunted down the sequels and then your second series and your third!! Goddess was fantastic. You are a brilliant writer, one of those whose books are impossible to put down! I keep shooting myself in the foot by starting one of your books at a time when I have SO MUCH uni work to do - I know I'll never get any done until I finish the story!!! Your characters are so well written and believable. You make it easy to hate certain characters (Salmeo, Maliz) and to love some (Ana, Pez, Lazar), but you also show what human nature is really like by having shades-of-grey characters (Herezah, Arafanz). (By the way, I wasn't sure whether you intended us to like Boaz? I sure didn't, he was a constant annoyance! His stupid, gullible, easily manipulated personality was just TOO irritating.) Anyway, thank you for such a fantastic read yet again! I like to think that when Lazar eventually died he joined Ana in Lyana's heaven and they lived happily ever after! :) Your books are a huge inspiration to an aspiring author.

Wow, thank you Corinne, that's very kind of you and I'm thrilled, of course, that you enjoyed all of the books so much. Again, thank you. And you're a writer. Good stuff. Drop by the writers forum some time and have a chat to all of us there. Always interested to hear from new, aspiring creators of wonderful stories. Well, I hope you enjoy Royal Exile and perhaps take the precaution of only hunting it down once your exams/assignments are done! What are you studying? F

Wow I can't believe you replied so quickly - that's so cool! I'm doing Law/Journalism...I know, it has absolutely nothing to do with writing!! Well, journalism is good for it (although I find it frustrating to write about real people rather than ones I've made up!) but the Law is good because it has absolutely no creativity involved in it that I HAVE to quench my imagination by writing!! I can't wait for your next series, you keep outdoing yourself so I'm sure this will be no exception! Your characters are just so realistic and the situations so exciting I can never stop reading them!! And thanks, I will definitely check out the writers' forum:) Thanks for your stories, and I hope I'm a natural storyteller like you are!

One of my sons wants to study Law. He's very dry, very measured, extremely precise and unimaginative in his writing. he drives me nuts! But I love it when he's in debating or moot mode, or even when he's preparing a paper. Such precision, such care. I think you're right - doing Law is probably really good for you. Perhaps it forces you to use both sides of the brain. Can't hurt! Keep going - Law and Journalism is a brilliant combo. F

Hi Fiona I just finished reading the Percheron trilogy, in a week no less!, and I must say that was a very satisfying read although there was probably a bit too much tragedy towards the end/middle of Goddess which was kind of heart string pulling.  I will definitely be looking forward to checking out your other works.

Hello Martin Thank you so much. Sorry it was so sad. I don't plan it - it just happens and I go with it. I wish I could organise my deaths, sad bits, high bits, happy bits in a more logical framework but sometimes the sorrows just pile up on each other. Anyway, thank you for sharing that you enjoyed and for dropping by here. Do come again and let me know how you get on with any of the other books. It seems to me you'll have them all read in a blink! i got   Goddess for my birthday last year and it was the best birthday i've had in a very long time! i ended up reading it in a few hours. I usually get Fiona's books as christmas presents and they make the time (full of annoying relatives) much more bearable. (i am the young child that had to be patted down at family functions to make sure there was no contraband in the form of books smuggled in).

thanks heaps

& also hi i just registered a little while ago

Dear Fiona. Congratulations on another fantastic set of books. I do however have 1 comment to make. I thought the ending for Goddess was a little disappointing. Without giving too much away it all ended almost in 1 chapter. I was hoping the confrontation would have been more spectacular. Am I the only one that feels this way? My partner Darrin, you may remember him from Colonnades last year Fiona, the star struck big guy with blonde curly hair who was absolutely lost for words....lol...he feels the same way. I have just picked up Royal Exile and so far, 3rd chapter, love it. Well done Fiona.
