I chose Odalisque from the library after skimming the back, thinking I was getting historical fiction. I have never read nor intended to read from the fantasy genre. , I flew through Odalisque and am now nearing the end of Emissary. I think I may die if I have to wait until May for the third book.
In the future, couldn't you just write the whole series and release them at the same time? , , )
Thank you for your beautiful story. ,I am in love with the characters.

Welcome Lizardbeth, :wave
Join the club when it comes to being frustrated with release dates. Where are you writing from? I know that in Australia Goddess will be released at the End of November but I couldn't say for other countries.
Unfortunately, you have joined the wonderful world of Fiona's Forum just as Fiona has gone AWOL to England and France for about a week or so, so she is unable to say hello herself just at the moment but she will be along when she returns to her desk.
Please feel free to look around the site and join in any of the other conversations that are taking place and if you like Percheron series give Fiona's other works ago.
Hope to see you around, if you have any problems my inbox is always open. See ya Ailsa

Welcome Lizardbeth,
Just so you know, the authors aren't the ones who get to decide when their books are published. I wouldn't be at all surprised if many authors did in fact finish their works far earlier than they're released, however the publishers seem to stick to this trend of only releasing one book per year per author.
On that note, the only way to alleviate the pain which will soon become second nature (alas, there is no way to break the addiction once it sets in), is to read *more* fantasy books! .. whilst waiting for the continuation of favoured series.

I'm afraid to start a new series. I don't want to forget about my loved ones. : )
I'm writing from Kansas. November in Australia? Oooh, I hope this is true. Surely I can get a hold of a copy!

Thats a good point that you have raised Maniac.
Yeah November in Australia Liz, check with Phil here on the board for American release dates he might have a better idea than I will at this stage or maybe he could give you tips on where to find them before they are officially released.
See you round :wave

Hello Lizardbeth
Thank you for joining us and for your enthusiasm for Percheron. I didn't mean to trick you....I promise! But I'm very glad you were enticed by the cover and subject matter
So...just to rub salt in your wound I should tell you that the yesterday within moments of returning home from my travels a big box of Goddess novels arrived at the doorstep! So yes, you can definitely access from Australia at the end of this month but can I possibly persuade you to wait until the American version is released? All your books will then look the same unless you have read from the library, in which case perhaps this won't matter to you and just finishing the series is more important. Anyway, release is March, I think, across America.
All of The Quickening books (again very medieval historical feel, set in a faux-Europe) may carry you through! Try Myrren's Gift and see how you get on.
In the meantime, hang around with his gang - they're the best!

Lizardbeth, this is a subject I've addressed before. I love discovering an established author who's already published a body of work, so I don't have to wait for those trilogies to be completed. But, sooner or later, you catch up and just have to wait for the next book. I've got Goddess on order from Amazon with an expected ship date of 5/27/08. I'll just bide my time 'til then. I do have a good backlog of other books to read until I get my hands on Fiona's latest.
I heartily recommend Fiona's Quickening trilogy starting with Myrren's Gift; all three books are available here in the U.S. now!!
Hello from Florida, by the way.
Phil
PSSSST: don't tell anybody, but I've gotten hold of ARCs (Advance Reader Copies) sometimes months before the official release of Fiona's novels here. My collection of her US books includes one each of the ARC and the regular novel. I've picked them up on ebay and through online sellers such as Abebooks. I'll start looking for the Goddess ARC in a couple of months. There's no guarantee that an ARC will be issued, but if it is.............I'll get one

Oooh, so mean of you to tell me that. To know they exist but I can't have one!
Well, I'm on book 3 of the Quickening series and loving them every bit as much. But do tell, once this is done, then what am I to do?
LOL.

The countdown is now on for me and work to get it - only weeks away now! Very exciting.

If I already have mine, it means the bookshops will have theirs any minute and then it's simply a case of whomever has time to open their delivery boxes and get everything out onto shelves. Yep, I'm a library user but as I finished each book, I needed the next immediately, so I bought the next four. : )
