Hehe - you don't like?

I am actually surprised that anyone here has read them to be honest.
Okay, read this and tell me you don't like it "Heroes Die" by Mathew Woodring Stover

He has written a handful of novels to date. He is relatively unknown, but since two of his novels I feel are pretty darn amazing I thought I would let you know about them.
Only Forward
Synopsis
Stark lives in Colour, a neighbourhood whose inhabitants like to be co-ordinated with their surroundings. Then there's Red close by: if you want to see a tactical nuclear battle recreated as a sales demonstration. Stark has friends in Red, which is just as well because something is about to happen.
Mixture of sci fi, fantasy, horror and surreal. Some comedy moments, and also some dark moments. Very different, very very good novel. A must read IMHO

"> Synopsis does not quantify the book. Amazing read, great writing style.
Spares
Synopsis
Spares - human clones, the ultimate health insurance. An eye for an eye - but some people are doing all the taking. The story of Jack Randall: burnt-out, dropped out, and way overdrawn at the luck bank. But as caretaker on a Spares Farm, he still has a choice, and it might make a difference.
I suppose more leant towards sci fi than fantasy ... but this book is much darker than only forward. Very good plot. Very interesting. Synopsis does the book no justice. Same great writing style.
If i could click my fingers and suddenly receive a new novel by any author, Michael Marshall Smith would be the one.
By the way if anyone needs books from the UK and needs help let me know.
Regards

Well MMS books are very different. I suppose Only Forward has some humour that can compare with Douglas Adams (Hitchhikers gue to the galaxy)? well - no not really. Hmm its hard to explain - Only forward has a bit of everything. The frist chapter had me laughing my ass off! Then there was fantasy, and a dreamland - umm and sci fi. Hard to explain and probably a unique book. I just personally loved it.
Spares is not really funny. That book is different and a lot darker.
Both books are full of a few twists and are pretty surreal. Very good reads in my humble opinon.
I will try a thraxas though (even though 'thraxas' sounds like some kind of disease!)

Thraxas at war
Thraxas and the warrior monks
Thraxas and the dance of death
Just checked them out hehe. I've not read them! They look like they could be fun though. And they are rather short so I may try one and if I like, buy more!
Thanks for info! Remind me of some old novels called "The stainless steel rat" hehe
