The latest book Sanctuary by Lynn Abbey is worth a read.

It is set in the thieve's world ... world.. sanctuary being the main city where that anthology takes place. This is amust for TW fans.. and even for new readers ... they can understand what is going on via the back story.

I never did make it through all 13 volumes or whatever. I made it to about 9, I think. Is this a standalone book and is it a full novel (i.e. not an anthology)?

Sanctuary, latest? I don't think so! This is a reprint, because I've had this book in my library for a long, long time, unless they've decided to recycle their titles, which is unlikely. I have to be careful now not to buy the books twice - they seem to reprint a lot of things lately, with different covers. Grr... >:

Which books are actually part of the thieves world series?
I've heard about the series and really want to read it but can't seem to find out which books are part of it! (I know that Marion Zimmer Bradley's Lythande is a character from the books but that's about it)

The following address lists the 4 books that were published by Doubleday in the Thieve's World series. These are the books that I have in my library. <img src="> The rest of the site is a guide to Thieve's World, so you might want to take a look at it.

From what I can see, the upcoming Santuary is a re-release of the original 12 novels, that are part of the 4 books this list shows. Have fun!

I thouhgt I was correct and this was anew book. But of course i did not want to appear correct all the time.

I was prepared to lose one... this one. Which I ended up winning. So beware this was my one to lose... so never again will i admit to being wrong.

Okay. Sanctuary is a new book in the world of Thieve's World, published last june by TOR. Another book has been published that is an anthology in the same world.

Now, from the link I've provided above, you will see that there was an original book titled Sanctuary, and this is what threw me off. TOR is re-releasing oldies as of late, and I thought this was just another one. My Sanctuary is an omnibus comprising the first 3 novels in the world of Thieve's World, and was published by my book club in the early 80's. Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggg! That really bothers me, because it means I have to look twice at the titles now to determine if in fact the books being released are new, or just a reprint.

Aaahhh! (gets out violin and plays it mournfully for Manon)

Of course if you didn't have so many books Manon you wouldn't have this problem.
