For those who have read my rantings about Flwelling elsewhere... and my humble apology to her... I have read the firt of the Tamir Triad ... and was enthralled... this is how i like my dark fantasy... bit too much masculaine/feminine thing going on but love the premise... and the writing is engaging from word one.

Magic, undead, ghosts and demons etc make it gross and groovy... characters I adored, die... oh no... this is what i was attempting in my own novel... and she does it so much better than I could myself.

I was not disappointed with this read... it is haunting...refreshing and darker than I expected... I can wholeheartedly recommend this book...

This book has made me squirm...

What would you do if one day you woke up to found you were of the opposite gender to what you believed yourself to be?

If you don't know (it's not a question I had posed)... read Tamir Triad... I am glad I did.

GRRM: "Thoroughly engrossing". I agree.

I love blood-magic...and hmmmmmmm for those who haven't read it... if you like fantasy dark and dirty (no not leather and custard Princess)... this is for you.

This book was a real surprise. Far better than I anticipated and what an intriguing premise for a tale. Bothered me a little because Myrren employs a similar theme but I had to get over it - the plot for Myrren was years old but this is one of the reasons why fantasy authors ultimately wind down their reading of fantasy....it's unnerving to read someone else's novel which has echoes of your own.

Moving on - I recommend this tale although I've been waiting for far too long for part 2...well over a year I think which is annoying. It is dark as Steve says and the lead character sucks you in and you care very quickly for his future which you know from the opening is fraught with terrible danger.

Good storytelling, lovely writing.
