Expiration date is also worth a read. Drawing of the dark.. is an unheralded classic. And about the same sort of standard as you have just read.. got read it mate you won't regret it.

I have this book on my shelves, but haven't read it yet. Let me know if I should put it up to my immediate reading list...

Well, I'm only through about 50 pages, but I'm really starting to dig his style. Fairly complex prose, but quite readable. The story itself is complex, too, but it's not overwhelming.

Well, I think it would be. It's hard to classify this one. It's half fantasy and half scifi. There's some time travel (very early so I'm not ruining anything) and there's Victorian London and magic. It won the Philip K. Dick award. I think it's worth a read.

I have just been to shop and bought expiration date... and saw another Tim Powers book... Drawing of the Dark... which i read blinking years ago... very spooky and moving but did not recall the author... what a great read...
So, I am now only starting to read my second Tim Powers book...but if it is half as good as Drawing of the Dark... then I will be happy.
Thanks for bringing me back to this writer.

I saw Drawing of the Dark at a store recently, and was really close to getting it. If you like it that much, I'll have to pick it up some time. I'm really enjoying Powers' righting style.

OK, I finished Anubis Gates last weekend. I can officially say that it rocks. Highly recommended, IMO. The book has great imagination, plenty of twists, a nice mix of magic and science, plenty of oogy antags. Really, lots of impressive things about it.
Cheers,
Brad.
