Sara Douglass recommended The Rent Tent to read. Trust me, she said, it's fabulous. So passing it on to all of you. She was also the first person in the country to start talking about Kushiel's Dart - has anyone read it yet...Ambrai you were going to weren't you?

I know Bluebutt has read the Red Tent. Can't remember what she said about it though... we kinda sidetracked the thread with talk about... other things.

Right at the moment, the only thing I could recommend would be The Demon Child trilogy by Jenny Fallon. But I think most people here have read it already.

I have to say I would definitly rcomend Kushiels Dart. I have only read the first quarter or so (it is a long book at 900 pages) and am finding it intriging reading. it is one of those books that are so detailed with all the politics etc that it takes more concentration to read than others.

I would liken it to George R martins Game of thrones series in terms of political intrigue, although the subject matter is somewhat different. It tells the story of Phedre and is narrated from her point of view. What is completly different is that Phedre is a whore with a taste for recieving pain not your exactly your normal heroine.

Will let you know more when i have finished it

Bought Kushiel's Dart this morning particularly as I see the second book is already out in the States. Looks very intriguing and how about the reviews it's getting. This is her debut novel too! (swallows hard).

Will report back when read although I'm tempted to hang onto it for next flight which is planned for early July.
