Bone Dolls Twin by... well, can't remember author, but you guys should know who, as it was recommendations from here that made me pick it up and read that chilling and intriguing blurb on the back.
and
Medalon by Jennifer Fallon. Been looking at this one for a while, decided, in my panic stricken fear of actually having someone go over my own stuff critically, to finally buy it and see what everyone raves about.
Will report back when I have read them, or the first one, and then the second one.

I read about the first five pages of Tigana on the recommendation from a friend, then I had a big arse arguement with that friend and swore I would never read anything he ever recommended.... but I hear that Tigana is like brilliant. I might get back to it one day.
Anyway, read about four chapters of BDT. Good so far. Can't wait to find out what happens.

Read Tigana! Benchmark stuff but then I'm biased. Tigana is my all time favourite fantasy tale and the ending so shocked (what we knew and they didn't), I remember throwing the book halfway across the room with despair. I'm going to take it away with me this month and read again.
BDT does hook. It has an addictive quality doesn't it. You just have to keep learning more about what's happening to that little boy, knowing what you do! Ending is abrupt - be warned - you'll be furious but determined to get part 2.

Ohhhh! I've got to try BDT.
Medalon - hmmmm. I've read the first two (the third is not in the library yet and I'm not going to buy it) and, in my humble opinion because I know people love the books, I think Jenny could do a lot better. Her writing style is a bit jerky, but it will clear up soon, I'm sure. Mind you, I've read worse. Otherwise from that, the actual plot will drag you in since it is a rather exciting plot. Let's just say Medalon is not everyone's piece of cake.

Hmm, these five weeks might just pass in a blur of reading for me... BDT, Medalon (and the other two if I get really really hooked, I don't mind buying books even if I'm not 100% besotted with them... well, I have to buy them because the city library has banned me, I believe.) and possibly Tigana if I can find it to buy.
Also am intrigued by .... um... it's up at voyager at the moment, was looking at in the book store when buying the other two... sorcerers treason, maybe... something like that. Sounds pretty interesting.

I have to say Medalon and the books that follow it are well worth reading. I resited buying this book till late last year but it hooks you in and is full of intresting twists and turns.
Plus Jenny is yet another Aussie author finally books are getting released here before anywhere else.
Im currently in the middle of reading the crystal dessert by Julia Gray and would easily recomend this author

Kushiel's Dart is the one I've heard about. Sara Douglass RAVED but warned it is not everyone's cuppa because of its subject matter. I'm going to order it to take away with me.

Is KD out in Australia now? Apparently Pan is a bit hopeless with the overseas market. Anyway, I want to read it, Sara has got me interested.

Finished BDT. Really really enjoyed it, but the ending did kinda leave me feeling a bit... unfulfilled. Can't wait for the next one.
About half way through Medalon. Also really enjoying it. My only quibble with it is that it gives things away too early. Um... unless there is a really big twist at the end, then there is no mystery left for this reader. But, other than that, it's really gripping me. Think I will be getting the next two as soon as I get paid.
