try these if ytou like the fantasy novels, these all have a few things in common Magic being the main one. Trust me these books are the best i have read since reading Fionas works.

Innocent Mage  by Karen Miller. Asher the main character moves to the city of Dorana and his life takes a a magical turn.

Magicians Guild by Trudi canavan . Sonea learns of her magical potential by stoning a magician and her life is tipped upside down as she particiaptes in a race against time to stop an invasion by dark forces.

The Stormcaller by Tom Lloyd.  Isak a higher human called a White eye becomes the heir to throne of Farlan . White eyes are larger , stronger and charsmatic then normal humans , and dont forget the Magic. ( I highly recommend this book)

the  Summoner by Gail z. Martin. Prince Martis learns that he is a summoner , a high magician, and the first summoner  in over a 100 years. after the assasination of his family by his evil brother and his Blood magician ( sought of evil dark magic) who did i fail to mention is a vampire. Martis Flees the city to prepare for war against his brother Jared and his blood magician who is preparing to reincarnate The obsidian King the darkest evilest summoner ever lived. ( another highly recommended quick read)

Across the face of the world by Russel Kirkpatrick. Leith learns that he is destined to prepare Faltha for war agaisnt the evil destroyer and his army. ( a good trilogy , bit hard to follow though)

The Spooks Apprentice. by Joeseph Delany.Dont let the fact that this is a childs book put you off, it is a very quick read about Toms rise through the ranks as a Spook , a warrior agaisnt darkness who banishs deamons and boggarts and even fights the devil himself . Its very involving and worth the read deffinatly Reccomended ( a movie is out next year too , hopefully it will slay Potter)

My recommendation is anything by Traci Harding. Start with 'The Ancient Future' and work your way through the double trilogy.

If you're into Greek Mythology, a fantastic read about the Trojan War that's based on 'The Iliad' is 'The War at Troy' by Lindsay Clarke.

Ummm (I'm looking at my secondary bookshelf. My primary bookshelf is in my room and I'm not in there!)

Another good fantasy read is 'The Princess Bride' by William Goldman which is one of my favourites.

I highly recommend Sara Douglass - The Axis Trilogy and The Troy Game are wonderful, absorbing reads.

I also agree with the Robin Hobb suggestions: The Liveship Traders trilogy is really fantastic.

I'm not sure who else to suggest - my usual suggestion for fantasy is Fiona McIntosh but if you're posting here then I'm going to safely assume that you've read some of her books at least!
