one of the funniest scenes was the one where the oliphant steps on several horses.
the foot goes down
the horse goes down
the foot comes up, but no more horse
IT DISAPEARED im telling you!
it looked funny to me, anyway

also, Gimli has lots of funny moments scattered throughout.

I think it's safe to say that most of us here (or who wanted to) have seen Return of The King. Now, lets reminisce on the movie (which is still in cinemas) and it's greatest and lowest moments....

:wall THE GROAN FACTOR:

Frodo: The ring is mine!

When Sam hesitates at giving the ring back (this is more when you're getting reading to groan)

<img src=ad"> THE SADDEST MOMENTS:

Sam: Don't go where I can't follow.

Frodo: How can you pick up the threads of an old life?... Some wounds go too deep, some hurts time can't fix... (something like that)

Frodo lyin with the appearence of bein dead after the spider got to him.

Frodo: No sam, it's you. You can't help me anymore, go home.

Theoden: My body is broken...(etc.)

Not exactly a line, but when you see Arwen visioning.

Sam: Rosie Cotton dancing. There were ribbons in her hair. If ever I was to marry someone, it would have been her.

Aragorn: Eowen... It's but a shadow and a dream that you love.

:clap2 BEST FIGHT MOMENTS:

Witch King: You fool! No man can kill me!
Eowen: I am no man.

The horsies running into the orcs... Oh yeah! Go horse power!

Aragorn Lookin dashing and sweaty in forground, deadies bringing down oliphant in background.

Pippin hangin around, kills one orc, is satisfied then goes back and does as his told.

:eyebrow THE YUMMMM FACTOR:

Frodo, lyin hurt and tired.... without top on.

Legolas, when he enters frodo's room all clean and yum

Legolas (again) when his in his princely finery.

:lol2 LAUGH MOMENTS:

Gimli: There's plenty for both of us, let the best dwarf win.

Gimli: That still only counts as one. (After Legolas has brought down an oliphant)

The first scene at Isengard. The conversation between merry, pippin and gandalf, gimli.
Gandalf: Hobbits!

There are plenty more, and I know I've left some out. Feel free to add to the list.

Beers and Berries,
Sat

I loved the bit where the the ships of orcs have finally come in, the waiting orcs have a go at them for being late and demand they get out, when *dramatic music here* Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas stride out, the orcs are shocked at first then start seeing easy prey then.... *more dramatic music* the army of the dead emrge. Yay!

Sorry, memory loss over exact words but you get the drift, yes!? <img src=urple"> :red :green

We really should try and keep just one Lotr thread going...this one seems good.

Now, whille others catch-up.

Most Memorable Moments
Fellowship: When they came out of Moria, thinking Gandalf was dead. The music, the muted sound, everything...I don't think I've ever seen sadness and despair better portrayed on the screen.

TTT: Legolas surfing down the stairs, popping orcs as he went...what else?

The Return: What you didn't see. When Denethor tells Faramir to retake Osgiliath...and he leads that suicide charge. You see the charge, you see the flight of orc arrows...but you don't see the obvious result. I thought that was such a touch of class.

But then again, that's just me. <img src=hrug">

Adios :hat

That scene with Pippin singing really is one that stood out for me, but I wanted to get this post up, after having a thought to actually put it up.

A SURMISE OF WHAT THE CHARACTERS WERE UP TO:
Arwen: Chuck hissy fit at daddy for not telling her about her son.

Aragorn: Finally stops leading Eowen on

Frodo: Somehow STILL managing NOT to die... he seriously has 9 lives.

Sam: Still managed to slip in a few very heart-felt speeches, with dramatic music in the background.

Smeagol/Gollum: Has a few great lines "Fat hobbit is always so polite!" Also dies happily which was refreshing

Faramir: Needs counselling. Daddy always choosing Boromir over him, tsk tsk.

Boromir: Still dead

Denethor: Wonderfully brilliant exit from the movie!

Legolas: Still lookin smashin and pretty

Gandalf: Refraining from using magic, getting annoyed with pesky hobbits

Gimli: Grows a paranoir about underground. Serious for a dwarf

Pippinn: <whining>"Gandalf" this, "Gandalf" that...

Merry: <Sulkily> But I want to fight! Why can't I fight? It's not fair!

Eowen: Stepping forward for womens rights!

Beers and Berries,
Sat

also, just remembered.
the gollum/smeagol interaction in the water reflection made some humorous comment about how bad 'orcses' taste. lol.

Towards the end, when Sam and Frodo had their heart-to-hearts, Neri and I were huddling in the back of the cinema chanting "kiss! kiss! kiss!".

It really looked like they were going to!

lol! I was too!!! :lol2

I think I counted twice, in a regular male-female movie where they would've even shared a brief peck. On the rock before the eagles, then at the very end.
Very immature of me, I was near cacking myself, I found it wildly amusing <img src=">

I found the scene where Pippin sings extremely moving - particularly the part where Faramir is standing awkwardly in his father's presence and his father pretty much tells him that he wants him dead and Faramir is near to tears. Then the transitions from Pippin singing to Faramir leading the charge...that was good.

And the part where Denethor is yelling that the city is taken and Gandalf whacks him over the head with his staff.

Classic.
