This new adventure flick should come out soon this summer (July 9). I love pirates movies, and since "Cutthroat Island", there was none (that I know of) made. I saw previews, and it promises to be exciting, scary, funny! Treasure hunters, rogues, ghosts, and much more will make this movie very entertaining!

"> Check out
www.apple.com/trailersFor the fans of Orlando Bloom out there, he'll be starring in this movie. I'm not really a fan, although I enjoyed his performance in LOTR as Legolas, and he's not my type. Johnny Depp will be in that movie too, as a couple other known actors, like Geoffrey Rush, Jack Davenport (a relative of yours, Soldier?

"> )
Special effects will be interesting too. And I already have a favorite line: "you better believe in ghost stories, 'cause you're in one!" Woohoo!

I've just seen the movie poster and yes it does look like a great adventure film with some good actors. I haven't seen alot of pirate movies and this one might be good. However the films of producer Jerry Bruckheimer, tend to be, in my opinion, are too commercial and favours action sequences over character development. I have a horrible feeling this might be a film with good actors working with a paper thin script. I know this sounds pesimistic, but I have been a movie buff all my life so I tend to anylize too much over films.

Well, it does indeed look exciting. Although I must admit that I prefer Orlando in LOTR as Legolas....... must be something about those pointy ears and that blond hair

, and I don't usually like blonds

lol just looking at the photo of him in Pirates, you wouldn't think it was the same person would you??!!

Is it out in Australia yet?
I've seen it this weekend, and it was a fantastic movie! Lots of action and humour, and the acting is really great too. The performance of Johnny Depp in the character of the pirate captain Jack Sparrow is absolutely fabulous.
I preferred Orlando Bloom in this movie than in the LOTR. Probably because I never thought he had the face to go with the longuish blond hair and pointy ears of an elf. He looks a lot better with his dark curly mane.

"> There are a couple of characters in that film that struck me as funny, and for those who read J.V. Jones' "Book of Words" trilogy, they remind me of Griff and Graf.

">
Hope you guys get to see that movie soon. It's really, really cool!

Can not wait to see this movie! I think it is a few more weeks away for us in Australia though.... after reading Liveships, I am so looking forward to seeing anything on the high seas...
and have faith, Mr Saint... have you ever seen Johny Depp involved in any movie with a paper thin script?
So looking forward to it - I'll bring the chocolate coated coffee beans Tabitha, you can bring the icecream okay? (may need it to cool us down!)

I saw this the other night on DVD, (ask me no questions,) and I highly recommend it.
While it's a totally different story to
Raiders of the Lost Ark, it has that same fun, adventure feel to it. No gratuitous sex or blood, just a really good fun movie...and Depp is brilliant.
Be warned though, despite the Disney connection, this is not for the littlies.
