Dr. Who has returned to the US wearing Christopher Eccleston's face.  I believe that he's the 9th incarnation of the famous character.  He's back to his Earth and Universe saving antics again, ably assisted by his new companion, the cute Billie Piper playing Rose Tyler.
I just saw the first two episodes of the British 2005 series on the American Sci-Fi channel.  Great fun.  The special effects and CGI are a quantum leap forward compared to the older series.
According to the Sci-Fi channel,
Quote "At the 2005 National Television Awards, voted for by the British public, Doctor Who scooped three of the top prizes: Most Popular Drama, Most Popular Actor (Christopher Eccleston) and Most Popular Actress (Billie Piper)".
Has this played yet down under or is it coming?  Based on the first two episodes, I highly recommend it./

It was GREAT! Played here last year. Both my husband and I were extremely disappointed that the series was so short (being a UK product) and that Christopher Eccleston only signed up for one season!!! He was a great Doctor.

I've got alot of Cyber-Mates in the States, and sooo many of them love Dr.Who. They have it on tape or dvd or whatever ... right back to the early seriesisis. Which, given the fairly sad quality (production and SFX) of all the seriesisis, says much for both The Doctor, and my SF-lovin' red-neck mates' ability to tell the difference between bloody good fun and let's throw a bunch of money at this and see what happens. Adios :pimp Old Celtic Saying SF-lovin' red-necks are very cool people
