i haven't read the books so i can't really compare whether the movie was faithful to them or whatever. I liked 'Eragon'. It was a typical fantasy movie, and i could see some resemblance to LOTR and a bit of the star wars story line. But it still was pretty good. One of the bad things for me was that it seemed to go really fast, one minute i was walking in the cinema and next the credits were rolling. and another thing that was really irratating was that every scene seemed to cut from one to the other ... ok its hard to explain ... like one minute u'd have eragon and brom talking then half way through the conversation it would cut to another scene involving the two evil dudes (the king and the sorceror) then it would cut back to eragon and brom again ... maybe im just being really picky but that was annoying me sooooooooo much. and ,there was a bit ,of a plot hole ,when eragon went to save the elf princess ,and brom appeared to stop him from being stabbed .... how the bloody hell did brom get there so quick!!?? eragon was on his dragon and left waaaay before brom did ... but no brom caught up anyway!! unless he used magic or something which i missed ... haha oh that bit annoyed me.

anyway overall i thought it was a pretty alright movie. Maybe 6.5 / 10. oh ... one thing (more like person) i didnt like was the elf princess, now she was REALLY aggrivating!! i dunno it looked like they were tryin 2 make her like cate blanchett in the LOTR, to me anyway. And you can't beat cate blanchett .. she rocks!!

well thats my 17-year-old opinion anyway. i liked it enough to want to buy it out on DVD when its released ... but i don't think i'll be going to collins to purchase the series anytime soon, not yet anyway.

so what did everyone else think??? what about those of you who have read the books?? was it a faithful adaption (not that that ever really happens)?? did they leave some major storylines out??

catch ,) ... loz

just read the book but it was the special movie edition with "8 pages of bonus full-colour movie scenes!!!"

but from wat i cud c movie Arya no where near matched the book description... lyk black hair suddenly goes blonde?!? but brom n eragon matched wheres murtagh so so (jack speelers rox) but wat i dont get is y hollywood is so bent on warping books-gone-movies nearly beyond plot revival. coz in the movies it flicks to galbatorix n durza whereas the book neva did that. but its a good movie anyways!

i didn't like the movie so much cos i found it hard to follow. like it was pretty good as movies go, but it missed a lot of the book (i've read the book and seen the movie). the book goes into a lot more detail about his training. And i found that the movie only hinted at all the work that had to be put into it. the movie also skipped so much of the travel that it seemed like it was flicking from one battle to another. so i agree with you on the scene cutting Loza_z_14. And of course it changed many things that were in the book, for instance Arya isn't meant to wake up untill later in the story. the book was more enjoyable than the movie i found because it put more worth and feeling i suppsoe into all the events.
