Guys, if the term ",chick flick", sends you running for the hills, then stop reading right now...

I've received this free Quickflix membership and it has meant that I've had some movies delivered that I'd normally ignore out of hand. So when Hugh Grant was smiling at me from the cover I couldn't suppress a shudder.

I don't know what it is that annoys me about Hugh Grant, but this movie marks the first time that I've wanted to see a Hugh Grant movie again - that in itself floored me.

It could have been the corny film clips that were so 80s it's just creepy, or hey, it could be that , Drew Barrymore was adorable in it. Either way, this was a charming movie with a couple of cute surprises, some great one-liners and while the music was cheesy, it was also very catchy.
(Yes Hugh Grant sings /)

It won't challenge you, but hopefully it will give you a good laugh

Have been meaning to check this one out being a performer I suppose I try to see anything that has any sort of music or dance in it. The one fatcor that turned me off was Hugh Grant, because I can't stand the way that he protrays the characters that he is given a lot of the time, but with the review that you have just given it Trent I might just have to get this one out on DVD but may not buy it just yet. :)

HAIL the fantasy writer!

I'm still getting over the fact that I enjoyed a Hugh Grant movie that much, and worse, that I enjoyed HIS role in it. Could this be The End Of Days?

You know I don't have anything specific against Hugh Grant although he's always the same person ever since Four Weddings and a Funeral. That's okay, I expect it in all his movies and they're always lightweight. However, I didn't want to see this one. (a) didn't think I could stand another Hugh Grant movie (b) have never rated Drew Barrymore. I have to admit, they were both good in it, especially DB, who was quirky and delicious. It's all very obvious but there are some great lines and the absolute most embarrassing bit is that the opening song "Pop Goes My Heart" has stayed with me and I still hear it in my head from time to time. What am I thinking????? It's dreadful and corny but Trent's right, it's catchy. And Grant is poking fun at himself most of the time so the laughs are genuine.
