I give this documentary the highest recommendation.
It was shown last night on the History Channel on Foxtel and will be shown again on Sunday night, I think at 7:30pm (please check your foxtel gudies for a more accurate time).
This documentary details the most violent industrial movement in Australia's history in 1929 and 1930 and tells the story of the coalminers from the Rothbury Riots or Battle for Rothbury, as it is known. This story is not very well known outside of the Hunter region but I recommend those who have Foxtel to watch in and gain a little insight into what made the area that I live in and why coalminers and their families are always banding together no matter what the cause.
If you don't have Foxtel, please visit www.lockout.tv and place your name on this list for a DVD because I can tell you that it will be well worth the money.
Coming from the Coalfields and being a Coalminer's granddaughter, I would love for everyone to see why we have some much spirit in us.
Thank you.
