I would've LOVED to have written the Three Musketeers, because I am just dying to write a prequel (ignore spelling <img src="> ) for it!

It would be based on Athos, and end just as he joins the musketeers. It would be about him and Lady de Winter. What got me thinking of this idea was watching the movie the other day, then thinking that Athos and her MUST have had something in the book too, because otherwise it would just screw the whole storyline. Or so I feel.

That would be something that I would love to do, or even base a book off the story we hear from Athos about Count and Countess de Winter. Ahh well, free to dream, free to dream.

Cheers and Cherries,
Satine

*Hands soldier sunshine*

It is all good, I don't mind. It's been funny to read. (Unless thats just the tiredness kicking in. Unsure.)

Been away. Never mind me. Haven't started yet which is a shame. I think I'll read the book again. Still working on Terroma, the Lockrasts, and all thsoe characters in another books though.

<sigh>

Cheers and Cherries,

Since this book no longer has a copyright... you can write a PREQUEL to it. So go girl! I would like to read it.

Alexandre Dumas won't mind he is dead.. long dead... so you go for it.

When will you be finished?

My mom is a big fan of Alexandre Dumas, and has most of his books in her library. I know that he's written many books in the 3 Musketeers storyline, but I'm not sure if there was ever a prequel to this story. I'll ask her. I'm sure she knows. He did write a sequel titled "Twenty Years After", if you're interested.

And since this is a thread on writing, here's a bit of an inside story on Alexandre Dumas. Most of Alex's books revolve around the same characters, so when he was writing them, he used to make these little dolls that would represent each character, and help him remember each's situation. For example, when a character died, he would lie down the doll. Or if a character lost an arm, he would cut the doll's arm. Anyway, there were a few discrepancies in Alex's books with some of his characters, like a dead one suddenly come back to life. Didn't the dolls do the job? They did... so long as Alex's friends didn't play pranks on him. Alex liked to have a few drinks with his friends, and when they got drunk, some of them would rearrange the dolls, thus confusing the hell out of poor Alex. It was an interesting system, though...

Good thing they didn't take the cloths off the M'Lady doll and put them on one of the Musketeers...that would have made for an interesting version.

OK, so there was Porthole, Atheist, Armrest and the dark, tanned one? (I can never remember his name either.)

That's all of them, right?

PS, I think that dude's name is Dartanus, which I think in French would be D'Art:moon , but you'd have to check that with Manon.

Not funny DN! Manon has taken the trouble to make a worthwhile contribution on an interesting topic and the thread has been ruined by the usual gibberish from you and Soldier. There are plenty of threads in the other forums for you two to play Morecambe and Wise!

Manon, and of course Satine, for my part in highjacking this thread and running off with it to The Land of Gibberish...you have my apology. (At least Jacko didn't insult Soldier and I by calling us Martin and Lewis or something horrible like that.)

In way of recompense, I will now post an old story of mine entitled The Werewolf...just so you, Satine and Jacko can make fun of it.

Actually

I thought I had encouraged Satine to write the story because it was no longer under copyright law.

So forgive me Satine if my sense of fun got in the way.

Please go for it and write the story. I would love to read it.
