okay i will go for

sparhawk and his friends in David Eddings elenium and Tamuli, i just loved the humour as they went about their mission...

but i would have to say each of the chosen group had its own distinct and lovable character....<img src=oapbox"> okay i love them all

and i would also have to say Belgarath and Silk, they did amazing jobs:clap

Jess

i too liked Silk and Belgarath. There is something about a rogue isn't there?

DN, now you play nicely. Thomas Covenant is a great character. Love him or hate him he has an afffect on one.

So do gangrene, mothers-in-law and tax...and I don't fancy any of them much either.

But I'll be good. :rolleyes

Yep I like TC, Nemesis! He is so complex and it is not hard to understand his bitterness and belligerent attitude. He is leper who lost too much even the townspeople (due to ignorance). Just walk in his shoes and look at the world through his eyes. However, I am not justifying any immoral acts of course. But he is hard not to sympathize with. And look how deep his love grows for the Land though he can have a snappy, fiery tongue. But in retrospect, I would not expect less from him.

Jess

I did like Sparhawk. Eddings is brilliant at characterisation. Although I did think Sparhawk was contrived and not as fully rounded as he could have been. But after 6 books you have to love him.

And he is a classic type hero isn't he?
