I'd go with something particular which only he feeds on - this makes him especially unique. Make up something like my berries where the poisonous arraq comes from. I really like the idea of poisonous fruit or poisonous plant, perhaps foul smelling. Let his breath be foul too.
Your idea sounds great! Good luck. F

Thanks all! I have been bubbling with ideas (When I haven't been upset about lack of sleep)
Newest physical appearence to Tyrant: His wings are like Bat wings, not bird winge, and his eyes are still blood red. Ooooh, I'm thinking of all the mischeif those two can get up to.
Yes, I have been sleeping very badly, waking up a couple of times every night. Very bad.

"> I get extremely tired now, obviously.
Well, better go, got class in..... eek, 1min!!!!

Yes, I have a small need
I'm trying to decide which might suit the book better. I sorta got the idea from The Green Prince by Sophie Masson, but,I totally thought up the idea by myself.
Here we go:
Mode of Transport: Terroma often stalks in the forests, around the glades where she can spy on passes by. But she also like to ride her winged horse. He is a fiery stallion that she has charmed. He is black as ink, with huge wings. His eyes burn red, like a flame. She has enchanted him with a spell, and now, he is her slave to her call. His heart has been turned black by her enchantment, and hates all things good.
Now, the problem is, I went on to describe what he feeded on, and I can't decide between poisonous berries of trees and shrubs I made up or.... and I'm totally serious here.... wheather he should eat dogs and stray cats.
Well, I would LOVE to hear your comments/suggestions on this, malevolante character/animal.
I was thinking of calling him Nightmare, but that was too much Kings Quest 6 for me.

Well, I guess it all depends on how you're depicting your winged horse (mythical creature that he is).
Real horses are herbivorus, which necessitates teeth of a large, squarish, blunt nature, made for grinding vegetation. If you hold true to this, then it would be poisonous berries he ate.
However, if you're going completely out of the realm of known mythicism, you can make your horse carnivorous, with teeth like a cat, all sharp, pointed and made for sawing meat. Then go the cats and dogs.
Or, if you eventually can't decide, you can go omnivoroius, like humans and have both grinding and sawing teeth, and the horse can eat both things.
For straight out advice on which to choice, you have to remember the origins of your creature. You say the enchantress has turned his heart black and now he hates all things good. This would indicate that once he didn't, and was therefore a nice, gentle creature, which to me would mean he was a normal horse that ate grass and such with herbivorous teeth. I would then pick the poison berries, unless the enchantment changed his teeth as well. You can say that as his heart turned black, so did his requirements and that's why he now eats poisoned berries.
But that's just my take on it. Hope it helps!!

Perhaps having him eat something that is not overly common might be interesting. That way, although Terroma has changed him she can't have it all her own way as he won't just eat anything but has to hunt around a bit......
don't know if this helps but is just an idea......

Ah, the sweet torture of inspiration....
I have trouble sleeping a lot of the time as well. What used to work for me (doesn't seem to anymore) was burning lavender oil in an oil burner. Knocked me right out, slept like the dead. Only bad thing was that it took me about three hours to fully wake up. I would walk around work in this half daze....

Children is the answer for you two although I wouldn't rush you into it!
I am asleep almost as soon as my head hits the feathers. It is a source of much irritation for my husband. But, I pay a price for my easy drift into slumber because my dreams are vivid, seemingly constant and usually dramatic (read frightening) and so I wake exhausted and twitchy like Goth.
Many's the time I'd prefer to be awake and roaming the house.

I think the worse part about kids is when they jump on you when you don't wake up in time..... Well thats my alarm clock in the morning....
You see just hearing my younger sister enter the room makes me get up because she really does JUMP on me. *Wimpers in pain*

"> *sniff sniff*
P.s. Thats a great idea about your book, but I suppose (Whoever said this I agreee- I think it was Fiona ??) that since the horse was previously good, before it was turned to evil it should still eat those posionious berries you mentioned.
Unless the person (witch ??) keeps feeding the horse a potion or something like that to keep it evil. So that it doesn't turn back to good.... I dunno its just an idea to your book that I can suggest of. Umm, the main reason I think like this is because of the magical/mistycal that might surrond the horse.
Hope it helps

Hehe, Fiona, now, don't take this personally, but I don't think I'm ready for kids, just yet. I love babies and all, but what do you think my mum and dad would say if their 16yr old daughter came in the house and announced that she was pregnant? lol. No, wouldn't be too good.
lol, my dad was going to bed the other night, and I was in a bad mood and so I told him that I was still awake (about 12.00am?) and he came in and said, "Okay, you're not pregnant are you?" I fell over in bed laughing, because he was being serious!
As to sleep, I'm on these natural stuff that stinks, the tabbies taste bad, but they help. Honey in milk is also YUMMMM I don't know if it helps or not, but it's a nice thing to have at night.
The story is coming along well, in my mind, so anytime now I'll sit down and start typing away....
In Theatre Studies, we are doing an excperpt of Medea. Hehe, guess who I am?? Yes, I'm the evil Medea. Well, this IS going to be fun! Mwahahaha
Better go and help.... I dunno, i'm going now anyway,
