It's amazing what a trip to Adelaide will do for one's book shelf. Just when I was depairing for something to read, I now have about FOUR to try and read in the next month or so. Wish me luck - I might just need it!

The four books concerned are :- Feist's 'Magician'; Terry Goodkind's 'Wizard's First Rule'; Sean Williams and Shane Dix's 'Echoes of Earth', which is the first book in the Orphans Trilogy. At the meeting last night, Sean had a copy of Book 3 (at least, I THINK that was the book he had - of course, I could be wrong).
But before those, Fool's Fate!

I went looking for Magician today, because it is supposedly excellent.
Couldn't find it in 3 bookstores. I also couldn't find ANY Kate Jacoby books, and just one copy of "Betrayal". Oh, and no Sara Douglass books in two of those stores.
I certainly hope they've just sold out, or else I'll have to declare my whole shire illiterate.

That's unusual, Phrantic, 'cos even here in Whyalla, SA, Feist's books are easy to find. See if you can find any of Feist's other books, because you may be right - they may simply be out of stock. It DOES seem a little strange, though, that you can't find a copy in THREE bookstores.

I've just been through the same sort of crap trying to get a hold of Blue Moon Rising for last month's book club, and eventually had to resort to ordering it over the 'net - and it STILL hasn't arrived yet!

ad"> Hopefully you have more luck than I did.
You may now consider yourself .. um .. errr .. Wished Good Luck.

... Especially since a new print run of Magician (reworked cover, etc...) hit the shelves fairly recently.
That being said... because of its age (and despite its agelessness) some book stores are not so keen to stock it, thinking that it's too contemporary to stock back-copies but not classic enough to stock permanently (e.g. Tolkien's works, etc...).
Some people have no taste...

I am reading like 12 books at the same time. Its hard because one of the books has like 5 diffrent stories in it,another 1 with like 15, and all the other books are one story but they are all chapter books with like 45 chapters in each. Its even harder when i have to finish all 11 books. But ill have to read them 1 at a time and that will take me forever. Plus i wanna read them all so i can read the rest of the Quickening Trilogy and get onto the Trinity Trilogy. I cant wait to buy the Trinity Trilogy and the Percheron Books. So I really have a lot of books and stories to read.

Hehe your lucky you could get Four books to entertain you at one time. I'm fussy with books, my favourite pasttime used to be trawling bookstores for something, ANYTHING new to entice me.
I'm lucky, there is a massive book clearance atm in essedon i think. Dirt Cheap books, lots of books novels and otherwise for $5 a pop, mostly trade paper back editions of books all released in the last few years. I picked up Greg Keyes, Jacqueline Carey and a bunch of other fantasy authors...ended up with like 12 books from there. Then the highpoint Dymocks is closing down (sob) so i got greedy and spent quite a bit there because...hey when else can i get 40% off all books.
I can't juggle more then 2-3 books at a time, and that only works if i'm re-reading something older that i like to get me through a particularily boring part of another book. I get trapped into worlds.

I'm sorry if i'm scary.
