DK, this is a hugely reassuring post. I say this because I know that my next series, The Quickening has a similarly transparent plot. It's fairly obvious from book one precisely where this story is going to end but I'm holding my breath and banking on the fact that readers will find it irresistible enough to take the journey and walk the twists and turns with Wyl to see how he's going to get to the inevitable conclusion. I promise some surprises and hopefully can keep you guessing. But thanks for saying what you have.

Lynn is an accomplished enough writer with such a strong imagination that I'm sure the read over the next two books will be compelling that the the fact that we know where this must end is irrelevant.

Keep enjoying - book two, Hidden Warrior, will be with us soon. F

I liked this book too. Very much. I'm only sad that the others aren't available just yet, although book 2 is out in hard cover, I think? Will have to re-read Bone Doll's Twin before getting into the second! <img src=">

I agree with DK, that this will be interesting to know _how_ the character gets to the obvious. And Fiona? Don't worry. I'll still be the first to order Myrren's Gift from Canada! <img src=">

Very intriguing story which I read last year. Now I'm totally ticked off because it's been so long for part two and yes I think I can remember being irritated at where the author chose to end book one. Lynn Flewelling is the international guest at Swancon this year so I shall make a point of asking her more about the tale.

I have it on good authority from HarperCollins that book two is due to hit shelves mid year...June I think.

I found this an intriquing read and left many questions is gender more a state of mind or is it a physical thing ( which wasnt really mentioned in the book)

the basic premise is that a girl child is born to the queen, becasue of the kings paranoia all girls are put to death so the child is made to appear a boy and is raised as a boy (well i thing that is pretty much it anyway)

What I want to know is what did people think of the "malevolent spirit"??

I loved this book, it was so haunting, so spooky, so brilliant! I loved every sentence, I adored the premise and the plot although predicatable was still a page turner... I read this work under sufferance but hey, what a shock I had... it was great and I highly recommend this to anyone... can't wait for the next in the series.

I found this to be a very intense but moving book. It is pretty obvious to see where it might end up (as I know of only one book where the bad guy wins conclusively and the good guy knows) however I so badly want to read how the story will get there.

Im really enjoying this book, but its very creapy, dolls scare me as I alway think they are watching me and there eyes are following me around the room.

I have to say that this book makes me feel a little bit sad too, as a mum I can fully understand how sad and betrayed she felt. The poor demon has really suffered and I find myself cheering for him a little bit.

cant wait to read the next book.

a bum rating out of 5
