Another forum I belong to ,has a 50 book challenge every year and since this ,forum is likely to be full of avid readers I thought it might be ,a good idea to ,suggest it here? ,It's ,a bit too late to start now since it's October, but if anyone's interested we ,could start one in January? I've been doing it this year and am so far sitting on about 30/50. Not quite sure I'll make it really since I've only got about 2 and a half months to go! I know some people who have already read about 60 ,just in the last 10 months, quite amazing...and scary!

So is anyone interested in this idea? ,

I'm at about 85 so far this year. Last year was over 100. But then, I'm retired; so it's easy Phil

That's very impressive! You're a good candidate for the challenge :p although a 100 Book Challenge might be better?

I'm hanging out for the end of the semester so that I can get a whole lot more reading done!

I'm not too sure how I would go with a challenge like that? do you have to read 50 different books or can you read the same ones over and over?

Well the first time i read Fellowship of the Ring i finished it in a week....even though thats only about 500 and something pages in paperback, the style of writing is "draining" (by that i meen: You finish all 3 books and go "wow that was tiring";), or maybe thats just me lol

Yes that's just you. I finish all 3 books and want to cry 'why does it have to be FINISHED AHHHHHH!!!... and I take one of my older books for comfort reading in the bathtub. For example Legends by Robert Silverberg or one of the old Dragonlance War of the Twins...

As for the book challenge, I really have no idea how many books I read a year. But it's more than 50, that much is certain.
