Hi Guys,

 ,

I'm really not sure whats out there when it comes to conventions &, festivals, but from the bits &, pieces I've read on here &, other forums, I think i'd have a lot of fun at one...

 ,

I've read a bit about dragoncon in the t=on/>, do us Aussies have anything similar??? I know the t=on> t=on>Melbourne writers festival is coming up soon, but i'm wondering what else is out there in melb that is more specifically suited to fantasy fans???

There's the Melbourne fantasy convention called Convergence, which takes place in June, I think. I have a feeling this might be the national convention for 2007. Yes, I'm right: http://www.natcon.org.au/2007/

And then later in the year is Conflux in Canberra, which seems to be attracting a lot of interest.

There's Swancon in Perth and there's a Sydney based sf convention as well. And there's a big one in Brisbane usually but I never know when. Google it and you should come up with them, Seanie. They attract loads of readers, aspiring writers and published authors as well as agents and publishers. Always worth a visit to your local one.
