Hello to all readers of my books

The tour to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne is falling into place.

First event confirmed is:

QLD

3/12 , , This is an event for Pulp Fiction Books at the Queensland Writers Centre at 6.30pm where I'll be talking to aspiring writers and any readers who are interested about the writing process and my experience on how I found my pathway as a fantasy novelist and the industry. There is a small fee I understand as this is a fundraiser and you can find out more from Ron on 07 3236 2750. , Numbers are limited and you'll need to book and Pulp Fiction suggests sooner rather than later.

See you there! , /

F

MELBOURNE - DECEMBER 7 In Melbourne I'm apparently only doing stock signings. That means I'm just dropping into various bookstores to say hi to the staff and to sign whichever books they want personalised, so the timing is not definitive and I don't know how long I'll be there. I'll be at: A&R Melbourne. Cnr Elizabeth and Bourke Sts around 1.15pm. Dymocks Collins Place approx 1.45pm. Dymocks 234 Collins Street around 2.15pm If anyone wants to catch up then I think Dymocks at Collins St, our last signing, is the best spot as I'm likely to linger there the longest. If you want to call Louise on 03 9660 8500 do so. She can let me know you're planning to come in around 2.15/2.30ish. Or she can ask me to sign a book specifically for you and leave it. I don't think we'll leave there much before 3pm as I hear Hot Chocs are available in store!

FIONA!!!!!!!

I can't get to the Sydney signing if they are the only ones that you are doing, I am working and I have no chance of getting time off as I might be leaving my job shortly!!

Please tell me you are having other signings in New South Wales, please I am begging you!!

Sorry got a little carried away there but I was really looking forward to this.

Oh Ailsa, now I feel sick! What can I say???? These are the dates picked by the publisher for me based on the dates we set almost at the beginning of the year when I knew I'd be around. The best time to do this is early December for these reasons: A new book is out - Goddess. Publishers only send authors on tour with new books to promote. Early December is already late for the Christmas run. But I've been away as you know and this is the soonest we could get me organised to head off again. No bookseller is going to be keen to have authors tripping in and out of their chaotically busy bookstores much past 15 December when the madness seriously kicks in. So the earlier the better for them Anyway fret not. I'll be up again to Sydney next year sometime, I'm sure of it. And definitely don't do something mad like nicking off from work! I'll phone you if you like from a bookstore so you can pretend and I'll take a pic of me signing a bookplate that I can send, or book for you if you want to order one through a particular store that I'm going to? Let me know x

Fiona, You are going to be busy on the tour! Interesting to read what a 'stock signing' is too. Ailsa, trust me Fiona will sign a book for you - it worked for me in Port Pirie (which is two hours from me) and I got my book the week after. Good luck with organising it, I think the photo is a great idea (hilarious though too). Cheers, Kimberley

Yeah I know Kim, I will have to organise something cause I have no chance of getting there at this stage. ,)

Fiona :hug, I didn't mean to make you feel sick! I just also had an ulterior motive to wanting to see you, I am not trying to be a brown nose but I had a Christmas pressie planned and I wanted to give it to you in person so that is didn't break but oh well . I will work something out.

Thanks anyway Fiona I will  let you know what I work out.

Ok. Ailsa, I feel your pain. Fiona, I can't make that date in Brisbane either. I barely travel with work, but I am in Sydney on the 4th and 5th. Ok. I will be getting my brother to go for me. Will also be calling Ron about the talk at the QWC - so hopefully will see you there.

I am so shattered that it's simply 'stock signings' in Melbourne. I wonder if I could loiter without being totally stalker-like...Hrm.

KK.....loiter all you want. I am deliberately hanging around in the Melbourne store so that I can specifically make myself available to catch up with anyone who would like to have some time. Come and have a coffee ... I promise to hang around long enough to hear all the news! Fx p.s. Honestly, Murray!....bad timing!

Fiona, if I am able to puchase my copy of Goddess through say Galaxy in Sydney, would you be able to sign it (and possibly take a photo in the process) and get the store to send it?? If this is too much trouble I won't mind I promise I will work something else out.

That way then I can also read Odalisque and Emissary again before I read Goddess and hopefully satisfy your request in the topic "Tricked".

I feel guilty for trying to blame you for your tour dates   . I am really sorry Fiona, I know that you don't have much control over dates and stuff since everything is organised so far in advance.  :hug

For sure, Ailsa.  Just get Galaxy to organise.  I sign books for their customers all the time and yes, will definitely take a photo for you.

Let me assure you, Fiona, that I will be at 234 Collins Street, loitering in the fantasy section, probably holding two copies of Goddess. I will actually wait an extra week to buy the book just so I can buy them and get you to sign them at the same time. Let me assure you, that has never happened before - I always pre-order your books and get them a few days before the 'official' release date cause the store rings me and lets me know the books are in. :)

So, I will definitely be there with two copies - one for me and one for my best friend in England (do you think a signed copy as a Chrissy present will be a nice surprise?) - hovering.

Just to let you know.

Then let me buy you a coffee? You can sip, I can sign. We can chat! Thanks for the gift to your pal. Yes, I think it's a fab gift but then I'm biased!!!
