It's going to look a lot like this - that's Severo by the way, a nasty piece of work!

Hmmm - it has the flavour of the 1940's for me - like the old childrens books that had those wonderful black ink drawings - very evocative this one. The wolf is so savagely evil and other world looking and then there is the grand castle and those two purple leathery skinned imps - one looking so mischievous the other downhearted and frightned? Anyway - its a classic simply because it looks like fun. bravo

My reaction?
*gasp* Wow.
That looks fantastic. Definately a book I'd be drawn towards in the bookstore.

Oh good! I have a sneaky suspicion it may have changed though after all that. They may have been nervous about frightening youngsters but I agree, I think it draws you to it.
Have just - a few moments ago - emailed the edited and final version of book 4 called King of the Beasts to my editor. Such a relief to finish the series.
Do hope children enjoy Saxten's tale....book 4's the best one in my opinion.

Hmmm.... me thinks that children have loved Little Red riding Hood and the wolf, The 3 little pigs and the wolf, and of course there is our favourite Wolverine - me thinks they overract and are overly sensitive about child psychology and trauma. A little adrenalin does wonders as does imagination and dealing with things that evoke and are evil. Well done for finishing yet another major work - awesome productivity. Does the pace slacken after the signings for Emissary? More importantly for the readers - what is next???

Unfortunately the pace is only picking up. I have three manuscripts on the go right now. And for 2007 I am scheduled to write book 3 of Percheron, possibly a new standalone children's 8-12 fantasy and the second crime novel.
Phew....no rest in sight. I was going to Tassie in January for a break but no luck, will be working right through it but it least the scenery will be different!
Severo's Intent is released in March 2007, together with book 2, Saxten's Secret.
The following two volumes will be released in May.
