I am not sure if this will work out, but the idea came to me and I thought I would throw it out there.
Many visitors to this site seem to be interested in not just reading, but also writing. , So why not have a fantasy story to which everyone ,can contribute?
The idea is to just add as little as a sentence or as much as a few paragraphs to the last person's contribution and keep the story moving along.
The story should be completely free flowing, no rules as to plot, structure, setting or characterisation. , The only suggestion I would make would be to keep the story within the fantasy genre. , If you want to change the direction, drop in some conflict, build a town, add a character etc .. then go for it.
Anyway. , If it crashes and burns so be it. , , I will start. , Let's see where it goes.

Bradyn hit the dirt hard.
Rolling automatically with the fall, his ponderous body rejected the decision to spring cat-like back to its feet, choosing instead to halt in a pathetic crouch and then with one huge convulsive reflex, empty his lunch all over the dusty ground. Mercifully his lunch had consisted almost entirely of ale and provided little resistance.

The giant, six-legged Thark that had just thrown him gazed dully down at him, totally oblivious now to the massive thunderclap caused by the falling meteor that had caused him to buck his reluctant rider off. Or was it a meteor; he'd have to find out what the damned thing was. Yes, he'd have to investigate; as soon as his head stopped spinning.

"Nice move Rookie", called his training partner, Thalia, as she pulled her Thark alongside and leapt to the ground with the agility of a Nardalian Spider Monkey. "I know you said you were out of shape, but that was laughable!"
The friendly gibe cut through his head spin and made him blush.
"What the hell was that anyway?" he said, changing the topic.
"If I were you, I would be more concerned about what the hell that is", she said, indicating the offensive pile of liquid decorating the ground beneath him. "You'll never make the grade if you don't keep your hands off that Quork's piss Rynan calls ale."

An enormous shadow suddenly engulfed the pair of them.
"I have a message for you two." said Ryne, looking disdainfully down at them. "You're both expected to present in front of the king... immediately".
Bradyn and Thalia looked at one another aghast. Rookies were never called in front of the king.
Abruptly, Ryne wheeled his Thark and rode away, his displeasure at Bradyn's behaviour obvious from the stiffness in his back.

Thalia grabbed Bradyn by the scruff and dragged him to his feet.
"Right, we need to get you cleaned up or we'll find both our heads on the block" she said, pushing him aggressively towards his dozing Thark.
"Yeah", managed Bradyn, fighting the urge to puke again.
"The Glacial Falls are on the way to the palace. That should do for a start", Thalia said as she swung up on her mount and spurred the beast into a run.
Bradyn's pale grey eyes watched her go and he felt a chill start down the back of his neck. The icy touch of the falls was never pleasant, but it paled in comparison to the feeling of unease that was steadily growing in his gut. Thark's, although docile by nature, are not timid creatures and they don't startle easily. Whatever it was that caused his beast to throw him wasn't to be taken lightly. The fact that Thalia didn't even seem to notice it was just the icing on the cake.
Bradyn clambered into the saddle and felt his Thark tense beneath him, awaiting his command. He was sobering up far too quickly today.

The ride to the falls was short, and Bradyn plunged into the freezing water with hardly a shiver; he was too consumed with the anticipation of his upcoming meeting with King Farsong. What had he or Thalia done to warrant the old man's attention. The king no longer ruled with the iron hand with which he had gathered together the Dukedoms and Baronies and quashed their petty squabbles. He was now much more likely to be found walking the extensive gardens behind the palace, or talking to the Royal Astronomer about the strange points of light that had recently been sighted marring the perfection of the ordained constellations. O well, he'd find out soon enough he knew. "Bradyn," Thalia yelled, "haul your ass out of there and get dressed; we've gotta go!". Startled out of his reverie, Bradyn pulled himself up onto the flat rock where his clothes lay. "I'm coming, keep your shirt on.", he replied. His head was almost back to normal and, misgivings aside, he felt as ready as he could be for the upcoming confrontation.

On the way back to the palace, Thalia suddenly jumped from her Thark and began pulling up leaves from a plant sitting by the side of the road.
"Here, chew these", she said.
Bradyn looked doubtfully from Thalia to the leaves, shrugged and popped a couple in his mouth. Immediately, he could feel the last dregs of his hangover disappear. His mouth felt fresh and clean and his throat soothed. In fact, he felt on top of the world.
"How did you know about these, and why didn't you tell me before I jumped into the Falls?" he demanded.
Thalia, grinning, swung herself back up on her Thark, "You deserved it." A bit more seriously, she added, "This time, though, I think you're going to need to be feeling 100%."
Bradyn stuffed the rest of the leaves inside his shirt pocket. There might be need of these at a later date.
Thalia kicked her Thark into a canter and yelled over her shoulder, "Move it, Bradyn. We're late".
----
Arriving back at the palace, Bradyn and Thalia leaped from their Tharks and handed them to the stable boy. He'd obviously been pre-warned of their hurried arrival, for he took the obviously hard-ridden beasts without a murmur.
Captain Ryne was waiting for them at the entrance to the palace halls. He raised an eyebrow when he saw that Bradyn looked clean and his eyes were clear.
"You should be looking a lot worse than this", he said to Bradyn.
Bradyn shrugged, "Just lucky, I guess".
Ryne led them through the halls and out into the palace gardens. King Farsong was seated in the rose arbour, but rose when he saw them approach. Ryne bowed low, with Bradyn and Thalia following suit. The old king sat and gestured for his guests to do the same.
