Orbit has joined forces with Queensland Writers Centre to discover emerging SF talent.
A five day program for unpublished writers, or those who have no more than one significant work commercially published, will run at a retreat in Qld for five days during May 2008.
You'l need to arrange your own travel and pay $250 towards food and board as well as a $50 application fee per submission.
The organisers are calling for the first 50 pages of original science fiction or fantasy manuscripts plus one page synopsis. A shortlist will be made and 10 writers from that shortlist will be invited to join the retreat headed up by the new publisher at Orbit Australia and the senior editor. Please bear in mind that you need a complete mss ready to go.
