Plenty of warning for this one. 4pm on Sunday, March 30 I'll be giving a talk at the Marion Arts Centre. For more details contact the Library or Arts Centre closer to the time. I imagine they'll want bookings just to know numbers. All welcome. F

Bookings are filling, so if anyone is keen to attend this presentation, please book soonest on 8375 6855. Attendance is free but bookings essential. I know there's about 50 already confirmed. It would be nice to have a full theatre! All welcome. I'm talking more about changing careers, the risks, the fears and the joy of moving from the corporate world into the arts.

Good grief, 170 people are booked for this! 200 is the limit. Please hurry if you want to be there. Looking forward to seeing anyone from the Heartwood on the 30th. I'm talking about seachanges....and their emotional impact especially. In this instance it's about changing careers midlife from one earning plenty to one that earned nothing to begin with. Fx

Thank you to all who have booked. Today it was 220 and in about 20 bookings we'll have a full house. See you there. x

Hi Fiona,

I assume it all went well and you had the entire theatre of 220 laughing?

I hope you coped with the red venue.

It was a wonderful event - truly. We had 268 booked, so they were swinging from the rafters and if I didn't know better I'd have thought someone was leaping up with cue cards. Lots and lots of laughter and that only emboldened me to tell more amusing stories of my clusiness and buffoonery. The audience seemed to enjoy the slice of real life as I threw away my carefully crafted speech and did a Billy Connolly of just talking off the top of my head about life, dreams and keeping a sense of humour. We had a lot of fun for a couple of hours. It's a pity we didn't record it actually. I must remember to do that next time so we can show a clip or something. I've had some wonderful testimonials in and Marion is booking me again for next year. Thanks PP. Fx

Glad all went well and you and enjoyed it! - 268 is phenomenal numbers :)

I can't comprehend organising an event for that size.

Recording your sessions is a good idea  and would make it accessible to people if you decided to podcast it and/or make it available online.

Something to consider no doubt.

Sorry Fiona,

Just re-read your post (it's difficult as you know the post that you reply to does not appear on the post reply screen) and I assumed you  meant audio recording. I think you mean film/video. Just shows that I'm geared to digital recording of audio - bit strange as I don't own an MP3 player and really  know little about pod-casting, etc, but I am learning..

Well, you could always film it then vidcast it. Just to throw something else confusing in there. Or YouTube it. Anything, really.
