Okay, so I have no control over this. Someone at the board has done something screwy and we're a bit stuck for the moment. I don't know what everyone else is seeing but I've got all sorts of really old posts from years ago masquerading as though posted this January and then most of everything we discussed during January has disappeared. My apologies to all. Trent is doing his best to sort and fix although I'm gathering it's pretty much fatal and all we can do is go on from here and put some precautions in place to stop it happening again. In other words, I don't believe we can retrieve the lost posts. Again apologies.
I won't repeat my notes on the structural edit. But suffice to say it is completed now, and the timing is good because tomorrow I head home to Adelaide.
Thousands and thousands of words were exchanged. I was adding, deleting, trimming, adding more, pruning, adding another scene here and another one there and then ripping out other bits.
I've ended up with an additional 7000 words in the manuscript than draft 1. It has now been whizzed off to the editors around the world.
the next stage, for anyone who is following the journey of the manuscript, is the copy edit. The least enjoyable one because it hashes sentences and requires a lot of focus! but I promise I'll be wearing a smile on my face as for the first time ever I only have to do this once. Normally I have to do it for the various markets so I'm often revisiting a draft that is a year or more old and that's quite unnerving when you're two new books down the track and into a new story even.
Working on one version is pure bliss!

I'm seeing the same as you.
This happened to another forum I visit (not my fault - promise!) and they did manage to get some posts back. I could always have a word with those who deal with that kind of thing there to see if there's something technical they did to sort it out. I have no idea about 'behind the scenes' web page management so wouldn't have a clue how to help otherwise.
