Morning all!!

Claire, I hope your friend is getting through this difficult time.  It's important to have good friends to rely on during times like these.

i hope everyone else has had a productive week.

I've managed about 1,000 words - thanks again to Cibos on Sunday. My workload is heavy and stressful at the moment, so I think all I'm going to get done is about 1,000 words/week.  I'm looking forward to the public holidays we have coming up to try and get some real progress.

Just a quick post from me. Like Inkwell last week I've been suffering from some sort of wretched head cold. This one, as far as I know, isn't an exotic European one so it doesn't come with an accent but a cold's a cold. I've been determined to push forward, being on the home stretch and all, but it's been 50 words here, 100 there. All in all I've managed about 2/3 of my word count goal. With luck some of them will even be real words!

Anyway it's time for my next Lemsip. Happy scribbles.

Hello all,

Hope that everyone's weeks are getting better.  Life seems to be kicking everyone in the teeth at the moment (or the head for Inkwell and Marelle).

As for me, I can't wait to get back to some semblance of normal.  Living in a two bedroom unit with two kids (three if you count the hubby), most of our stuff in storage and .... worst of all - no internet, is not conductive to great creative works.  At least you might have some words in your efforts from this week Marelle.  I think the most I have done is think about my writing.  I also made the mistake of taking the kids to join the library on the weekend, and picked up a couple of books for myself while there.  My biggest struggle in discipline is ignoring the call of a book instead of writing my own.

Anyway, roll on 13 March (when we can start moving home again)!  I'm anxious to keep going and meet "Bob" as I feel it's only appropriate that he is in there somewhere (thanks Marelle!).

Okay, don't let the turkeys get you down folks. I too am having quite a time of it. I'm feeling utterly overwhelmed by the crush of Year 12 work that is pulling our household unbelievably thin. Twins have loads of advantages - this is not one of them unless I comfort myself that it's all over in one go. It's also festival time in Adelaide so Writers Week is in full swing has a lot of social events over and above the chance to listen to writers! It's also stinking hot and that must makes me plain cranky, especially with our airconditioning on the blink. But what I've done is re-adjust my DWC, taking in account all the stresses, and working with a new, manageable figure. It means I leave my desk feeling kickarse rather than deflated. It's a psychological thing and it works. I'm now on 21,000 words and although progress is technically slower, it doesn't feel it. Once I'm past the hot weather, the festival, I'll push it back up again but this way it keeps me positive and it keeps the manuscript ticking along nicely. All of you actually sound positive so just keep writing. DO NOT READ WHAT'S GONE BEFORE. Just push forward daily at a level that suits your lifestyle at this moment. Progress is progress, whether it's 100 words or 1000. Have a great week all. F

Hi Everyone,

Our warm weather must be down south because it has been a bit cooler here and raining which was perfect on the weekend. Not much else to do in a deluge but to write so I was able to get back on track which was a nice feeling after last week. I can relate to the Year 12 headaches I thought I was going to avoid these with my youngest this year because all his subjects are sports related, can't be too involved other than running around how wrong I was, now it isn't just going to school and doing work there is the added drama of getting the TAFE assessments done that go with a few subjects. (I'm really going to miss all of that when he finishes .....and pigs can fly backwards....)

I've only got a couple more chapters to go of my re-write so then I guess it's time to look at getting someone objective to look at it, then comes the real test, so far it has just been family and friends, they have been great and haven't hesitated to telling  me like it is, especially when bits definitely need more work. But I know I have read enough about what to do to know that it's not the go if you really want an honest opinion. So hopefully by the end of the month that is where I am hoping to be up to. No what do they say the power of positive thinking I will be up to that by the end of the month. Hope the week gets better for everyone.

Oh yeah shock horror I am on time today
