On the way home this morning I was saddened to hear of the death of Arthur C Clarke at the age of 90.

This man probably more than others got myself and a lot of others interested in the genre and over the years offered us some thought provoking work as well.

He will be greatly missed.

At one time or another, I've read every book of fiction he ever wrote and some of his non-fiction.  It would be hard to pick a favorite, but I remember The City and the Stars with great fondness.
