I'll be a panellist at the Salisbury Writers Festival this year on August 16. There's some good speakers, particularly publishers coming down for the event and I'll be involved in discussions on genre fiction. More details as I learn them but this is being hosted/promoted by the SA Writers Centre so feel free to contact the SAWC for more details. F

I went to some sessions last year and they were very worthwhile.

The event is very well promoted in the Messenger. Hope to see you there Fiona.

Looking forward to my very first Writer's Festival. I'm sure I'll get some good advice and hopefully the kick-start I need to get back into writing my first novel in earnest. Cheers!

What a fantastic day! 120 people to that little event in Salisbury - well done to the organisers and to all those who turned out in wet and wintry conditions. I had a blast even though I came so badly prepared! Read the question, Fiona! Fantastic to see so many of the writers from the TAFE Professional Writing Course, who are going so well. I am very proud of you all and congratulations to J-A on her amazing breakthrough with Orbit. Yeehar! To all the lovely people i met, get focused, get writing. There were so many tips and hints from other writers but amongst the swirl was a set of techniques that will suit you. Grasp with both hands and get serious and committed. Good luck to all. F
