but already it's time to start thinking about book 2 of Valisar. I'm in the final chapters of a crime book I'm currently writing and that needs to be finished in the next 7-10 working days and then by around the end of the first week of June I anticipate writing the first chapter of book 2, which doesn't yet have a name. I'll name it quickly though, because I hate working on a book that hasn't got a title attached. Never feels right. I am giving myself until October 9 to complete. It's absolutely pouring in Adelaide as I write this at 5.40pm Monday. Lovely, life giving rain! Fx

I am so excited! YAY! If you're starting to think about book two, that means that book one isn't too far away and that means that I'll be able to get lost in a good book and meet new characters and fall in love with some and have my admiration for others cut down and EVERYTHING. I love it.

But the best part about a new trilogy, this time round, is that I've completed converted my boyfriend to your books, Fi. So now I have someone to go with me the first day it's out to buy it! It's brilliant. I sent him away with Myrren's Gift, then when he came back for a few days he bought Blood and Memory, then for his birthday I sent him Bridge of Souls (thank-you again for signing that for me, Fi. It was brilliant.) and I chucked in Odalisque for good measure. He's now started on Odalisque and wants me to send over Emissary and Goddess as soon as humanly able. Totally sucked in.

I wasn't joking Fi when I said that between the two of us - your novels and my skills of persuasion - we can take over the world. Except you'd clearly be the superior being. After all, you've got the power of your novels over me and they really speak for themselves. I just nudge people in the right direction.

And hunting for Emissary is proving much more difficult than I'd first imagined. Everywhere seems to be sold out of Emissary and Goddess! It's crazy. i'm glad I get my books early when there's a squillion. It was actually quite amusing, I asked the guy if they had any hiding out the back in my local Dymocks store and he went and checked the computer and apologised for them being sold out. I smiled back at him and told him that I was very glad it was sold out and he kinda blinked and looked at me like I was a bit insane. I found it rather hilarious.

So after going to four bookstores and finding no copies of Emissary, I did manage to find this:

Which explains why it's sold out everywhere! YAY!!

I am a little insane, aren't I?

Ooh I love it, thank you! And especially pleased that your boyfriend is joining your passion for fantasy and I'm rather thrilled that he's enjoying my stories. Thanks! Valisar is about 12 weeks away max from being seen on Aussie shelves. I'd better hurry up and write book 2! Fx

Hehe, yeah!! New Fiona book to buy!!

Kiki, you are so lucky, my significant other doesn't like to read any books let alone getting hooked on fantasy!! Although he is constantly asking me what is happening in my books when I read them?!?     I would hang onto that one.

HAIL the fantasy writer!

I know, I couldn't believe it when he told me that he liked reading. Most of the guys I know hate books. Pretty good catch if I do say so myself. :)
