This is actually for my crime work as Lauren Crow but for anyone who reads crime alongside their fantasy I thought I'd mention it here. Burnside Library has chosen Bye Bye Baby for its main book read for 2008 in its One Book, One Burnside event. It's going to be big. The team at Burnside is planning a fun couple of months to promote the book and it will kick off with the launch on Tuesday, Sep 2. If you'd like to come along, they're planning a great evening. For now stick it in your diary and I'll let you know how you register your interest to attend. there's catering, etc, so they do need to know numbers. The celebratory party to finalise the event is on October 31. More details to follow. Events at the launch include: MC Samela Harris, an exhibition by Murray Edwards - whose work is featured in the book, hot food, crime writers competition, clues competition, door prizes, etc. Cheers, F

That's great news, Fiona; it'll require a new entry in your "other" website.  You'll be in a position to discuss and drop hints about the new novel, since it'll be wrapped up by then.  If this will be a crime group, you can proselytize a little for a crossover into fantasy.

150 people booked - it's going to be a great night and thanks to any of you who are planning to come along. Remember, no drop ins, you have to book so that the library can cater (yes, there's food being offered and most appropriate given the English theme!) See you Tuesday. F
