Although I do read fantasy, I also love crime, and I have to say the more bloody and brutal the better but it still must be a great story as well. I love Karen Rose, I have just finished reading Die for me, and Scream for me. I cant wait till Kill for me is out. While her series are not really a series each book is linked by characters that can appear in the next book or other books down the track. How ever die for me, scream for me and kill for me are a mini series within a series, (make sence yet LOL).

I have to say not many books scare me, and I am not really prone to nightmares how ever this book sent chills down my spine. The method of death was really facinating and I loved the evilness of the main character. Also I guess what scared me was that we never really know who that person is that we meet in the street.

Beware serial killers may be that little old lady who offer you an apple at your front door.

All in all a really brillant read, a real page turner, and great characters to keep you moving along. And it will keep you guessing too.

cheers
Issy

I'm pleased to say that I finally have a name for my second crime novel. The first is 'Bye Bye Baby' under the pen name of Lauren Crow, and the new one, due out this time next year, is 'Beautiful Death'. Those books sound appropriately gruesome, Issy. Might take a look! Fx

Issy, let me second Fiona's recommendation; Bye Bye Baby will definitely satisfy your need for blood and violence.  It's fast paced and would be perfect for a rainy weekend day (and night?).

LOL Phil, have read bye bye baby, we read it as soon as it came out for our bookclub. Have to say I loved it and its one of those rare books that I actually liked our killer. Fiona, Karen Rose is really good, one of the things that really got to me was that you really don't know who you are standing next to inline at the shops or who your neighbours are. Serial killers really do walk next to us in life.

I don't really get nightmares but I have to say "Die for me" made me have a rather horrible night, I woke up in a sweat and had the main character running through my head.
