Just thought I'd mention that I will be appearing at this major inaugural event alongside some brilliant writers as well as politicians, lawyers, human rights advocates, media, etc. It's a fantastic innovation and the line up for the get together is superb. I'll be on two panels but roaming eagerly to listen in on other sessions and meet all these interesting people who are involved in crime and justice.
Ian Rankin is the international guest.
I know this doesn't really fit a fantasy messageboard but you all know I write crime as Lauren Crow and I know plenty of you pepper your fantasy reading with other genres and most find that crime thrillers go exceptionally well hand in hand with sf.
May see you there. I'll do my best to answer to the name of Lauren!

Sorry, meant to say, that anyone interested to find out more should take a look at the website, which I have now forgotten the link to (typical) but google it, it will get you there instantly.
Cheers, F

I'll be on a panel in the Refectory on Saturday at 10am called First Offence, which is about debutante writers in crime, and another on Sunday at 2pm in the Rosina Auditorium, called Murder By Distance - which is about writers who set their books in other places other than the country they live. My crime novels are set in Britain, using Scotland Yard as the focus....and the dishy DCI Jack Hawksworth as the central character.

I totally forgot about this until yesterday. And the worst part is I totally could've come on the Sunday to meet the fabulous Lauren Crow! I'm shattered.
There's always a next time though, right?

ooh pity, that one on Sunday was good. Yes, always another occasion and now that I have a new publisher in Melbourne for a new novel, yet more reason to be visiting Melbourne!
