Is anyone else enjoying this as much as I am? Or am I just a ghoul? I was given Series 1 - always so much better to watch it without ads or waiting for each episode. I feel I must go out and get Series 2 now.

You've got to be a little ghoulish to enjoy Dexter, and I do.  I do have qualms about watching someone being glorified for doing bad things even if they're done to bad people.  At some point, he will have to atone.  It was for that reason I never watched the Sopranos, as highly rated a show as it was.  I just couldn't accept their criminal activity as a viable way of life.

Ys, I watched it and loved it when it was on Showcase. Series One in my opinion is better than season 2, though I do love both. My mum tried watching it with me once and she couldn't believe I liked something like it. She said i was just morbid haha. I'm in love with Jennifer Carpenter, who plays Deb. I talked my girlfriend into watching it when it came on channel 10, and now I've fully converted her. She's in love with Michael C Hall who plays Dexter, mainly because she was an avid fan of Six Feet Under. Dexter is now my favourite show alongside Skins. :)

I finished series 1 last night. Guessed the end but it didn't spoil it. Got to get hold of series 2 now although how to sustain the momentum of the first would be tricky.

Yes, that's true, season 2 started off with a lot of momentum following the aftermath of season 1's finale, then it just sort of went downhill with a somewhat anti-climatic ending - though it still had me enthralled from the get go. I think the DVD comes out either at the end of this month or at the end of august... not to sure, might have to check that.

Yes, love him. What a great character ok yes he is a killler but look who he is killing. I love that the he finds thinks quirky, he is not at all alarmed that one of his fellow officers finds him "off" but infact he is very amused by it.

I also love Rita, she works well along side Dexter.  Yes serial killers are a great find I think.

I love how he is learning about emotions, he wants to want to care but he just cant. I hope we find out what happened to him before he was adopted.

Big Dexter fan here. I agree with Clove that series one was the better than two, maybe because it was based off the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, whereas the second series was written by the shows writers.

Good news - series 3 has been given the go ahead !

HUGE fan.

I was thinking I might be in the minority in loving this show, as I see Dexter's relationship with his father as an all too familiar situation where a parent responds to their child's special needs, but obviously it is reaching a broader audience and that's great because it really opens up the question of good and evil.

Hands up who thought the serial killer might be Dexter's alter ego and that his pathology is a full blown multiple personality disorder? Or that it is his uncle and this is the reason Dexter's adoptive dad was so supportive; because he already saw what could happen to someone he loved if the desires aren't channeled?

I'm twisted, I know

Rushed out and bought series 2 on Friday so don't tell me another thing about it. We watched our first episode last night and plan to take it slowly rather than devouring in one hit! Dexter's in all sorts of bother in the first episode though! Fx

It will be difficult to watch this season slowly believe me! It's so greaaaaaaaaaaat and the suspense at the end of each episode is so unbearable that I had to watch the next episode, adn the next, and the next... and... I was sooooooooooo empty when I finished the season and realised that I'll have ti wait september to see the next part!

Enjoy, and don't forget to tell us what you think of every episodes!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Dex!

Oh my word......we're loving it! I'm not sure why anyone thinks it's not as good as the first series. Perhaps it's because with the original series the whole concept was so new and shocking that just getting to know Dexter was a weird but exciting experience. In series 2 we know what we need to know about him and those surrounding him, so possibly some of the wonder has worn off. Nevertheless, we seem to be getting a major kick out of it and restricting ourselves to two episodes at a time. It's all very tense! And we hated turning it off last night. This is one time I'm grateful to Year 12 because it means we now have to wait until next weekend at least to see another episode.

It's true I often read that season One is the best, but personally, like Layne, I don't know witch one I prefere...

Like you said Fiona, in the first one that was new, we discover the character, etc, and we loose it in the second season. But I think the second season is more centered on the feelings and all the emotionnal part of Dexter, and it gave me chills! I love when all the introspective aspect is developp, I love when we are involve emotionnally, and in Dexter we can only fall for him there is no way to not loving him!

I loved to discover all the reflexions in the head of Dexter, all his feelings. I think it's the same reason I love your book soooooooooo much Fiona : the emotionnal aspect! The connexion to the character!

I cry with Dexter, I laught with Dexter, I fear with him!

I'm... addicted? Definitely

(so sorry if this doesn't make sense, but my english is even poorer when I'm tired and I'm really really tired! )

He has just taken Doakes on and it was a wonderful moment - my boys and I cheered. There are moments when Dexter looks so vulnerable and sweet and other times when he just looks deranged and definitely sinister. MCH is doing a fantastic job with him. He's a character you cannot help but love. Fx

Finished series 2.  Loved it.  Couldn't say I enjoyed it any less than series 1 to be honest although we understand Dexter a lot more now and that makes him less of a surprise, I suppose but the writers kept the tension high.  The final scene is chilling.

I now have the Dexter theme as my ringtone!

I've just started watching season 3 and it's great, lots of twists and turns and some very interesting developments. Oh, I'm officially in love with Jennifer Carpenter. I can't keep my eyes off her ! Jennifer is in a movie called Quarantine (US remake of [REC]), check it out if you're into survival horror and or Jen.

I'm in love with this show. It's ace. I can't wait for season 3 to hit the air here in Oz. Its so unique, gripping and quirky. Everything that makes a great show. I'm also in love with Jennifer Carpenter  even though she isn't the perfect Deb (Big fan of the books).
