I'm looking into the feasibility of having the opening chapter of Royal Exile available for download from the site. Our wonderful Trent Hayes, who provides this bulletin board for us and the site, will get back to me on the logistics. Fingers crossed we can try and use this fabulous technology at our fingertips. But be warned...it will be my dodgy reading! Fx

I'll be immensely interested in hearing your reading. Knowing what little I do about you and the way you look, I can fantasize what you must sound like. I imagine your voice to be somewhat deep and liquid and still carrying the accent of your birth country. A mystery to be resolved soon I hope.  Go Trent!!

Ha ha! It hadn't occurred to me but you're right of course that probably lots of people who visit here would like to hear each others' voices as we do talk so often to one another. Oh blimey, I hate hearing my voice at the best of times. It's so dodgy doing a reading. Has anyone ever tried? Okay, maybe in your bedroom...alone. Try it in front of a roomful of people. Try it in front of a roomful of people who are all strangers. Try it in a roomful of strangers, all Americans and wondering why they're sitting in on a reading by an Australian! Have to say, they were a lovely audience - very kind, very polite, and full of warm applause. what a nice gang. Couldn't have got through it without them. I was so hideously nervous. Anyway, now I get to make my own pods at home in the relative safety of my office but it still jangles on the nerves to know it's going public and people are going to listen to me. But, Phil....just for you....x

Okay, the seriously wonderful Trent is sorting it all out now. Give us a week or so to get it all worked out. I have to record it yet but then I have to learn how to crunch it down in bitsize or something to make it easily accessible into your iPods/computers, etc. The logistics of location, etc, Trent has already organised. Three very loud cheers for Trent please!

I've just learned how to crunch down a podcast from 30mb to 6mb so I'm feeling extremely chuffed.

So, the first one I did was chapter one of the Lauren Crow crime book because I had to do that for a special promotion we're doing.  Royal Exile is next.  Give me a few days and then Trent and I will see how we go at getting it ready for all the gang here to download the opening.

wow fantastic, now just do a full recording so that I can take it on the plane with me, carring books are not my ideal of fun,

For Phil, Fiona has this we nice voice, with a really lovely accent,  the British accent is just enough to put a great edge to her voice. ehehhe

Very brave of you Fiona

It's terrifying and I don't think I get nearly enough expression happening. I'm too self conscious but hopefully I'll be better for Royal Exile and then keep improving. It seems to be a successful writer these days you also have to be an all-singing, all dancing, all round entertainer. Very daunting!

I think that you have a fantastic BBC voice, its just perfect for recording, just think of everyone listening to you are sitting in their undies, or naked.

If you don't want to wait, go to http://www.laurencrow.com/ for a podcast of Bye Bye Baby.

I'd love to sit in on a reading by the resident Aussie author extraordinaire.

Any news for this podcast?

Living in France, I'll have to wait until October 1st to read Royal Exile, and I'm so impatient that discovering a few lines of this would be wonderful! And with Fiona's voice, even better!!!

Yes, I'm so sorry, sorry, sorry! Life - particularly this year - has an awful habit of getting in the way of all my best intentions. I promise, Ophidia, to try and address this asap. Back soon with news. Fx
