Good news for our French readers. The publisher has decided to bring out the Valisar series before Percheron. Royal Exile will publish in January 2009. And even more good news .... it will publish in hardback first. Hooray for Bragelonne and for the French audience who have been so supportive!

Oooooooooooooooooooooooh!!! Excellent! Bragelonne told me they will publish your new serie on january 2009, but I thought they where talking about Percheron! It's amazing because it's rare that we can have the french version so little time after the engilsh publication!

And in hardback!!! With the beautiful covert that Bragelonne have most of the time, I can't wait to see what they will make of your Royal Exile!

Hope you will pay us a visit to present the book! It was so great the last time!

Oh my god!!! This so cool!!! We will have a french hard cover a few months after the original release! Even if I probably will read it in english first, I'm so delighted!

And, yes, as Ophidia said, will you come in Paris to present your new trilogy and see us, little frenchies?...

Hello my little Frenchies, I shall be in Paris sooner and more often than you can imagine! My plan is to do a swift detour into France November this year. I might only be in Paris overnight but I shall definitely be making myself available to Bragelonne so hopefully we can catch up. Then, there may be a good chance of me returning next March, this time for the Paris Book Fair. And then if you're not all totally bored with me, I shall be doing my utmost to get back yet again next October when I'm on official tour for Valisar in UK. I need very little encouragement to find reasons to swing by Paris, trust me ... you do such great hot chocolates and chocolate macaroons to absolutely die for. Maison du Chocolat makes me go weak at the knees! Fx

This is so cool Fiona! I know that all your French fans would be immensely glad (and crazy too, lol) to see you 3 times in one year! We never can be bored with you! It's true that Paris offers much charms (especially chocolate one!) I understand that you enjoy spending a little time in Paris just to go to la Maison du Chocolat, it's like Heaven there...

I hope Bragelonne will organize a nice meeting for you. And the Paris Book Fair is a great thing to! Can't wait

The title has been settled for French translation. We're keeping it simple: "L'Exile"

Oh! great! They had keep it simple with only one word, as for The Quickening. Sure,  "L'Exile" is lighter than "L'Exile Royal"...

I like that :)

Love this title too! It's simple but I think it's intriguing enought to catch the eye of readers!

Fiona, do you know if the art cover will be the same for france as the one we already know?

I dont know yet but I will find out for you. France does beautiful covers so Bragelonne being a specialist fantasy genre publisher might want to do its own thing and that would be entirely understandable given its track record. However, this cover has something that is universal so the publisher may decide to go with a that global feel. I'll check and let you know. F
